Fitz, Biana, Tam, and Dex stared at the raging fire. It was starting to spread, despite the desperate efforts of the human firefighters.
"We need to do something about it," Dex said.
"Yeah," Biana agreed. "Let's hail the Black Swan.
Fitz pulled out his imparter. "Show me Master Leto," he called to the Imparter.
Mr. Forkle's wrinkled face appeared on the screen. "Yes?" He asked.
"So we have a bit of a problem," Fitz said, cringing slightly. "Sophie's old human house is on fire. It's Everblaze. And it's spreading pretty quickly. The humans can't put it out."
Mr. Forkle's eyes widened in shock. "I'll call the councilors. They should have some frissyn left after the last... disaster," he said. "But for now," he continued, "you and the others should focus on finding Miss Foster and Mr. Sencen."
"Okay," Fitz said, then ended the call. "Let's go," he said to Biana, Tam, and Dex. "I think they're this way."
He headed off down the street, towards where he heard Sophie's thoughts. The others followed. He had to rescue her. To make it up to her for being a jerk earlier. He couldn't bear having the last words he ever spoke to her be so rude.
"We're on our way, Sophie," Fitz whispered. "Hang in there."
