Yeonjun and Soobin arrived at the apartment door.

"You know, I appreciate you coming and consulting me," Yeonjun started, crouching down and reaching under the doormat, "But you could've just came and get the spare keys, you know."

Soobin stared at the muted, pastel-colored rainbow doormat that wrote "love is love" in bubbly letters. It was slightly dirty from footsteps and a pair of fluffy bunny slippers sat quietly against the door.

"How else would you thought Mum came in?" Yeonjun said, flicking on the lights and taking off his boots.

"But if Beomgyu knew she would come and get him, why would he keep spare keys?" Soobin asked, taking off his shoes and coat too, stepping into the entrance area.

It was every bit messy and broken as he remembered. Things were scattered on the floor like a storm had just gone by-- quite literally though.

"He probably thought she wouldn't touch the doormat," Yeonjun replied, now picking up things and putting them back to where they belong. "But to be honest, I don't think I know him that well."

He chuckled. "I wasn't a good big brother, Soobin. I don't know if he's okay, under all that attitude, and... "

He took a deep breath. "I sometimes think he might never be complete anymore."

Soobin crouched down next to Yeonjun. "I think you're a nice big brother," he said quietly, "never had one. You're doing okay, and I think Beomgyu knows that too."

"Hmm," was the response.

Fortunately, not a lot of the things were broken. Most of them were just dusty from sitting on the ground, and the only things actually broken were the lamp and some mugs.

Soobin set on gluing them back while Yeonjun vacuumed the space.

And finally, the only place left was the bedroom.

The scattered makeup supplies still sit quietly on the floor. Soobin could still remember the cracking sounds yesterday night, and the way Beomgyu smiled as he stood amidst the ruins.

The dressing table was sitting there in the morning sun, bright and pretty and just there, its presence making Soobin hold his breath.

The red spray paint was all runny and long streaks of red were splayed all over the smashed mirror, like some sort of murder scene. Soobin could see his own reflection in one of the pieces.

The big word sat there smack in the middle, overpowering everything else, anger and resentment seeping in arrogantly along the cracked lines of the mirror.

"I still... She's crazy," Yeonjun breathed out quietly, like a whisper.

Soobin felt his heart ache. What had truly happened that night, in the locked room, if this alone was insufferable?

-------------

Beomgyu was out today.

Well, his happiness pretty much exists in shopping for makeup and clothes, so why not do that after that absolute shit that happened yesterday? Makes perfect sense to Beomgyu.
