After the little episode, Soobin could confidently say that one, Choi Beomgyu is a big fat tease, and two, he's really good at makeup.
"Okay, it's done. You can look now." The said boy was closing the cap of the lipstick while looking fondly at his creation.
"It's nice."
"Well, there's one last thing to complete the look... two, actually." Beomgyu went to his closet again while Soobin admired his own reflection.
He was wearing a white shirt with ruffled sleeves and collar, with normal black dress pants and polished shoes, complete with red eyes and an extremely pale complexion.
"You have a black coat? Okay, it'll work," Beomgyu said, closing the closet door, "Then all you need are fake teeth. "
"It'll be hard to talk," Soobin complained, "And it's weird having something in my mouth."
"Then let's just tell the customers you're a vegetarian vampire." The boy smiled, then started taking off his own shirt.
Meeting Soobin's confused stare, Beomgyu laughed. "I need to change too, silly. Zombies don't wear spotless shirts."
-------------
Soobin was feeling uncomfortable, to say the least.
It was already at the end of the day, and he was currently talking to a zombie, a millionaire, and a cook.
Namjoon was complaining in his best "old rich man" accent that Seokjin didn't bother dressing up while the latter argued that he did because he doesn't normally wear his cook outfit outside, and Beomgyu was just standing there but distracting just as well because of his shirt.
Or the lack of shirt, to be exact.
He was still wearing a shirt but it's so tattered that it's more like he didn't, and Soobin had to feel respectful because the boy remembered to paint the areas that show in that green color too.
The good thing is he is now wearing his coat because Namjoon said it would be better if Beomgyu's nipples don't show.
"This day will go down as the first Halloween Choi Soobin ever dressed up," Namjoon announced, making Seokjin burst into laughter.
"When I first knew him I swore he was the most boring person ever," he said between chuckles, "Last year he came as an antique store worker."
"I was supposed to come today as a sleep-deprived antique store worker," Soobin started, "but then someone said they got something for me so here I am."
"But seriously, you two look so good today I bet a lot of customers came because of you," Namjoon said, "makes my outfit look dingy."
"It's fine bro, you radiate high-class vibes anyway," a deep voice said, and two people walked into the store.
"Taehyung!" Namjoon exclaimed, "and Jungkook too!" He went up and gave his brother a big hug.
Taehyung smiled as he put down his suitcase. "How's the store doing?" He asked, helping Jungkook take off his shirt affectionately.
"Fine," Namjoon replied, gesturing for them to take a seat, "and- Oh, this is Beomgyu, he works here now."
"Hello, I like your outfit," Beomgyu stood up, holding out a hand, which Taehyung took.
"I'm Taehyung, Namjoon's brother, and this is my boyfriend Jungkook. I think you look absolutely fabulous too!"
----------
After all of them sat down by the table in the back, there was a zombie, a vegetarian vampire, a cook, a millionaire, a knight, and a police officer in the small space.
Soobin smiled as he leaned back, listening to the conversation going in front of him under the warm glow of lamps and candles, Taehyung pouring wine for everybody.
Namjoon's brother, Taehyung, lives in the town nearby with his boyfriend Jungkook and the rest of the family. Their visit was always the best thing that ever happened during Halloween; they help in the store, arrange parties, keep the mood up until Christmas when Namjoon and Seokjin go back to see their parents with Taehyung and Jungkook.
There will only be Beomgyu and himself in the store after Christmas, Soobin realized, but his thoughts were quickly interrupted by Beomgyu poking his arm.
"They're nice," the boy mouthed, eyes shining with a smile, "I like them."
"They're the only reason I celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas," Soobin whispered back, "they're just naturally...... festive."
"Makes you want to relax and enjoy yourself," Beomgyu agreed.
"How's mum?" Namjoon was asking, and Taehyung said something back which made everyone laugh, the smell of wine and intoxication in the air.
"But sometimes too much," Soobin added, slightly dizzy with the heat radiating from the people, when suddenly someone took his hand.
"Let's go somewhere else, then," Beomgyu smiled, "Get some fresh air."
Soobin's head wanted to stay and at least tell Namjoon, but his heart craved the escape.
"Okay."
