A few hours later, my classes were over and I took out my community service club flyer and check the dates of when this club started. It was will start tomorrow. And then I checked the basketball flyer and it says it will start next week. I walked to the hallways and saw a lot of people signing up for more clubs and others meeting up with cliques or friends. When I look at other students talking to their peers I feel so lonely. I still don't have any friends but it's okay at least no one is bullying me. I remember the time when I was a child, I was bullied a lot based on how short I was. It was when I was at the park and I sat at the swing alone. These bullies would always call me names and make fun of me. But then Ogiwara-kun saved me from those bullies by fighting with them and I'm glad the bullies stopped. That was the first time I met Ogiwara-kun. I miss him a lot and I wonder how he's doing in his school.
The hallways were getting crowded due to people signing up for more clubs. I tried to go through the double doors just go outside but these people are blocking my way and I sighed a bit. I realized most of these people are taller than me and I feel like I'm the only shortest person in this school. Then I saw another open door and a bit more space for me to get out. So I walked to that door and finally feel relaxed from the crowd inside. Fresh air from a lot of crowded places like school is all I needed. I walked to the bench and sat down waiting for my ride.
I looked at the cherry blossom tree across from me and the leaves were falling. I looked at the group of birds migrating and flying high above the sky. It's a beautiful day outside to feel relaxed and look at nature.
Akashi: Hey, Kuroko.
I felt someone touch my shoulder and called my name. I turned around and it was Akashi-kun. My heart starts beating looking at his smile and his glossy red eyes. Also his beautiful red hair. I wonder why he came up to me, maybe he wants to talk to me about the basketball club only.
Me: H-hi Akashi-Kun.
I stuttered a bit but I blushed.
Akashi: Waiting for your ride?
Akashi-kun asked me and I nodded.
Akashi: I'm waiting for my limo to come here soon.
When he said his limo, I'm assuming he's also rich because I think most rich people ride on limos.
Akashi: You seem lonely when I saw you walk to the hallways all by yourself.
Akashi-kun sat down on the bench next to me.
Akashi: I feel like I should keep you company that's why.
He smiled at me and I felt speechless when I explain those things to him. I'm really glad he notices me. He's like the only person who notices me. This makes my day and I hope he continues to come up to me.
Me: Oh yeah... it's crazy inside the school building, with so many crowds. So are you not busy with your student council club?
Akashi: We're free at this time, I didn't have anything else to do since I already finished all my assignments in the student council room. I was bored and I figured that I should get to know you because you're still a new student here, right?
Me: Yeah, I am. And I still haven't made any friends yet because I'm still shy.
I looked down a bit but then Akashi-kun touched my hand and I was shocked when he touched me.
Akashi: It's okay, don't feel sad.
Akashi-kun holds my hand and I was blushing red when he touched my hand. I never expected him to hold me like this before.
Akashi: You will make friends soon and I'm your friend now.
I nodded at what he said. I wanted to tell him that I have a crush on him or I liked him but it's too early to do so. I have to wait for the right time. I'm glad he said he's my friend, although we may not have classes together at least he can still see me or come up to me.
Akashi: Oh about the basketball club, are you thinking of joining?
Me: Um Akashi-kun, I was thinking I should but... to be honest I'm not good at basketball. I can barely shoot hoops.
Akashi: It's okay Kuroko, you don't have to be good at basketball to be on the team, but practicing makes you better. A lot of people who are joining the basketball team haven't made any single hoop yet but once you guys practice you will get better and instead of making it through hoops you can help my team as well.
Me: Thanks, Akashi-kun.
I nodded and smiled at him.
Me: Oh, there's this other club I was interested in joining. My Japanese literature teacher gave me this flyer.
I took out the flyer from my bag and showed it to him.
Me: It was a community service club and I like doing community service, my teacher said it will help make new friends in this club."
Akashi-kun nodded and looked at it.
Akashi: Oh that's interesting, and I'm glad you found a club of your interest. As one of the student council members, we go to each club and observe and I observe this club and it was a pleasure meeting the members. I know three members in that club that is part of the basketball team as well.
Me: That's amazing Akashi-kun, who are they?
I asked and I remembered my Japanese literature teacher told me that one of the people in the community service club joined the basketball team.
Akashi: Ah Riko Aida she's the assistant coach, her father is our coach, Hyuga Jumpei, the bench player, and Kagami Taiga, the power forward. Oh, the basketball team in this school is called Vorpal Swords, I came up with the name because I'm the captain of the team as well. I hope to see you next week during basketball practice.
Me: That's very interesting Akashi-kun.
I nodded and smiled. We start to get to know each other more about our classes, hobbies, and family. Talking to Akashi-kun puts a spark in my heart. I'm glad he's like my first friend in this school. I can't stop staring at his beautiful appearance while hearing him talk. He's so classy, mature, and sweet, he makes me feel a little confident of myself now. Then our rides are here. I saw the limo that came by for Akashi and I saw my mother drive by to pick me up, then we got up from the bench and got our stuff.
Akashi: Oh my limo is here, I'll see you tomorrow if I'm not busy. Bye Kuroko.
He smiled and waved at me as he walked inside the limo. I nodded and I waved goodbye to him.
Me: Bye Akashi-kun.
I walked to my mom's car and I sat inside the car.
Me: Hey, mom.
My mom: Hey Tetsuya, it looks like you made a new friend now, that red-head boy named- what's his name again?
Me: Akashi-kun. His name is Akashi Seijuro, mom.
I answered her and smiled. My mother nodded while she drove me home. I'm so glad Akashi-kun talked to me. I thank god, the universe that I made a friend in school today. If the time is right and if we both get to know each other maybe I will tell him I liked him. I hope he's not taken by Mibuchi-kun because I know they're both close. Akashi-kun reminded me about Ogiwara-kun when they both got me into basketball and how they made friends with me. Anyways, I can't wait to join the team soon if I'm ready.
