At home, I was at my bed petting Niguo-kun while reading one of my library books. Gosh, Niguo-kun is so soft and fluffy as always. The first time I got him was when he was on a box in the streets. He looks so abandoned and people must leave their dogs in the streets alone. So I decided to take him home and I'm glad my family lets him stay here. He's healthy and better now.

Niguo: Arf!

Niguo-kun barked at me while he was in my lap rubbing against my stomach.

Me: Are you hungry Niguo-kun?

I smiled while I took a bag of his favorite food, started feeding him and he starts eating.

While I kept feeding him, I started to think about Akashi-kun. He told me outside of school he lived in Kyoto which is far from Tokyo. I wonder how many hours to get to Kyoto one of the richest and most beautiful towns in Japan. I should have asked for his number but that will be weird because we still have to get to know each other and that takes time.

I finished feeding Niguo-kun and placed him on my chest as I lay down. I petted him gently while holding him in my arms.

Me: What should I do...? What if Akashi-kun is taken or what if he doesn't like me back...? I hope he doesn't think I'm a boring person to date...

I spoke to Niguo-kun and sighed. I kept petting him and he wags his tail. Maybe I should stop worrying about it and just make friends with other people. But, Akashi-kun is so interesting and attractive to look at, it's so hard to resist.

The next morning, I went downstairs to the kitchen and sat down with my family, and started eating breakfast. I'm excited to go to this community service club. I showed my family the flyer of the club last night at the dinner table, they were so proud of me. They know that doing community service is a good opportunity to volunteer outside and help people. It's a great way to make friends. I ate my boiled eggs and drink my vanilla flavor milkshake. That's all I can eat for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner.

My mom: I'm so proud of you Tetsuya, you found a club that you like! Community Service club will help make new friends!

My mom cheered while she was eating her breakfast.

Me: Thanks, mom, I also got this basketball club flyer and I was thinking of joining next week.

I showed the basketball club flyer to my family and they looked at it.

My mom: Wow, another club! I hope you also make friends there as well!

My mom smiled at me as she hugged me and kissed my cheek.

Me: But what if I don't make it to basketball....? I can't shoot hoops and other teammates might not like me because of my height.

My dad: Don't worry son, when I was your age, I tried to try out for football but I can't even kick the ball through the net. But at least they accept me on the team because I helped them.

My dad added in and he chuckled while he was drinking his morning coffee. He put down his coffee and looked at me. He cheered me up and smiled at me.

My dad: Ah don't worry son, you will make it to the basketball team as long as you are helpful and loyal to them.

My grandma: We will always be proud of you Tetsuya no matter what.

My grandma smiled and hugs me tight. I felt relaxed now when they cheer me up. Maybe I shouldn't be so worried after all about joining the basketball team.

My mom: Ah let's get you to school now sweety, you don't wanna be late."

My mom finished eating her breakfast, she got up, took the plates, cups, and utensils, and put them in the sink.

Me: Alright, mom.

I nodded as got up and grab my bag. I petted my dog who was laying down underneath the table. We waved goodbye to my grandma and my father, then we walked outside of the house and walk to the car. My mom drove me to school while I looked outside the window.

After a few hours, I walked to the library as usual during lunchtime. I sat down on the empty seat next to the window, which is the quiet spot, and started doing my homework. Most of my teachers except for my Japanese literature teacher gave my classmates and me a lot of homework to do. This never happened to me before because my homeschool teacher never gave us this much homework compared to here. I sighed a bit when I look at 10 pages of math that I had to do, then I have to write a report on the axis powers for my world history class, and I have to do a research paper for my chemistry class, and oh gosh there's a lot. The good thing is is that none of these are due tomorrow but they are due next week.

Me: Come on...

I mumbled while I tried to prioritize which homework I wanna get done first.

Akashi: Need help?

Someone was behind me and asked me. I turned around and it was Akashi-kun and I was shocked. I was wondered what he was doing at the library and how he found me.

Me: Um yeah sure.

I smiled as I let him sit across from me. I showed him a lot of homework that I needed to do.

Me: These are my homework though.

Akashi takes a look at them and looks through pages of one of my textbooks and notebooks.

Akashi: Hmm, interesting.

He kept looking at them and then he looked at me.

Akashi: I have the same amount of homework that I do but don't sweat it, you will get through it and you can always ask me for help anytime." he smiled at me and I started blushing.

Me: Thank you Akashi-kun.

I smiled at him. I was surprised he came to me a the library, he would usually eat with his friends at the cafeteria. I'm really glad he accompanied me.

Akashi: Ah no problem Kuroko. How come you don't go to the cafeteria during lunch? when I saw you walk to the hallways going to the library alone, I felt really bad. So that's why I came to you. You could have sat with me and my friends.

He looked at me with a concerned look and I looked at him feeling awkward a bit

Me: Well, I'm sorry it's just I don't want to be a bother or a burden to you.

I answered him while looking away but then I looked at him again.

Me: I just don't want to embarrass your friends or frighten them because of my lack of personality or my appearance.

Akashi: Don't worry Kuroko, it's okay. You can sit with me any time and I won't let my friends judge you.

Akashi smiled at me. My heartbeat faster when he said that and I nodded.

Akashi: Oh here is my phone number, I forgot to give it to you yesterday but call me anytime.

He gave me his phone number on a piece of paper, I took it and nodded. I took a piece of paper from my notebook, I wrote down my phone number on it and gave it to Akashi-kun.

Me: Here is my number as well.

I blush and smile while he took it.

Akashi: I'll call you as well when I'm not busy.

Akashi-kun smiled as he looked through the notes that I took in one of my classes.

Akashi: Let's help you finish your homework, so you would not get stressed out.

I nodded while he was going through all of the stuff that I have. He started helping me with my homework on each of my subjects and I looked at him and paid attention to him. He was so smart and calm. No wonder why he's the top student in this school because of how gifted he is even though he's the same year as me. I was almost done completing most of my assignments because of him. He helped color-code my notes and explain which parts I needed to understand and study the most.

I felt so happy when he came up to me and started helping me with my homework. It's like we are on a study date at the library even though he's not my lover yet or I don't know when. I promise that I will find the right time to tell him how I feel even though it's not going to be easy to do so.
