The closer Akashi and I are, the more we get to know more of each other. We always text each other every night. If I needed homework help or any help at all, I can always call or text him. We became best friends even though we have different classes together. At least I can see him on the basketball team. I'm glad I made some new friends at the Community Service club. When I first appeared they were frightened at first but they were very pleased with me coming. Thanks to my Japanese literature teacher, I felt less lonely now. I always sit with my new friends from the Community Service club during lunch periods and I didn't have to go to the library again. Although I still do go there just to return books and borrow some books. Every lunchtime, I always see my crush Akashi-kun with his people from the student council club. He always smiles and waves at me.
Right now I'm at the lunch table with my friends just drinking my milkshake. Kagami-kun is eating so many burgers and he never gets big because he works out a lot after eating. I would never eat that much food like him.
Kagami: So you're excited to join the basketball team after school?
Kagami asked while he was chewing on his burger and drinking his soda. I smiled and nodded.
Me: I am excited but also nervous...
Kagami: Why?
Me: Well I'm not good at basketball because I can't shoot hoops.
I looked down a bit but Kagami tapped my shoulder.
Kagami: Hey I wouldn't worry about that besides, I remember when I was a kid I wasn't able to shoot hoops as well but as I practice I got better at shooting hoops.
Kagami chuckled and I smiled. He's right I shouldn't worried about that. My other friends explained more details about the basketball club. I listened and took notes. Then they talk about other team members who are at the top, Akashi-kun is one of the top players. They explain each person's name from the basketball team. While they were pointing at each person, I remember who they are now, from the first day of school. Now I know that Kise-kun is from the mainstream media club. Hyuga pointed out that fangirls come up to Kise-kun because he's a famous model and idol and they adore him for his looks and talent. Kagami thinks of him as a showoff and I chuckled. Aomine-kun, and Momoi-san from the health committee club. Momoi-san is the manager of the basketball team. Kagami-kun talks about how Aomine-kun and he always argue on who is the best shooter. Midorima-kun is from the science club. Kagami-kun mentioned that he always brings his lucky items on daily basis. The tall guy Murasakibara-kun is from the bakery club. Kagami-kun mentioned that he likes eating sweets and snacks. And of course Akashi-kun. Kagami-kun kinda envies him based on his looks and talents just like how much he envies Aomine-kun. I chuckled when Kagami-kun said he's better than them, but I believe that everyone who is experienced in basketball is equally talented. Hyuga pointed out that both Kagami-kun and Aomine-kun are the same, they both argue little things, they both eat the same amount of burgers, they are both almost the same height, and they both are like twins. I'm very interested in getting to know much about them before entering the basketball team.
At the gymnasium, I walked with Kagami-kun, Hyuga-kun, and Riko-san to the basketball club. I stand up and listened. The coach seems strict but he's Riko's dad. And I see Akashi-kun standing next to Midorima-kun. I was behind him, I hope he notices me. The coach ordered us to do some exercises by running back and forth. Running around the gym with the others. And other tough exercises. I felt so out of place when I can't keep up with those exercises and I almost run out of breath. But luckily, Akashi-kun told me to relax and do it slowly. That made me happy. I'm glad Akashi-kun helps me no matter what.
When it was time for basketball match practice, I sat at the bench with a couple of new members and I watched them play. I was amazed at how trained the members are especially Kagami-kun. The coach called me in, so I went in and help pass the ball to Kagami and he slammed it perfectly. The more I pass the ball to any of those players who are experienced in shooting the more I feel easily accepted. I'm glad the coach accepted me and others on the basketball team regardless of how bad I shoot. I was just their helper, actually more than that. I was their friend. Most of the teammates were happy for me to be here especially Akashi-kun.
Basketball practice was over, I was in the locker room getting my things. I looked at my text message and my mom will be on her way in fifteen minutes. I sat down and drank my water bottle for a bit. Then Akashi-kun came up to me and sat next to me. I smiled at him and I was wondering what he was going to say.
Akashi: I'm glad you joined our team and you did a good job.
He smiled at me and I blushed.
Me: Thanks Akashi-kun. I didn't realize I would be accepted at the team but thanks again.
We both continued our conversation while we walk out of the locker room and headed outside. Akashi-kun is very supportive of me no matter what. I love hearing him talk a lot and it gives me butterflies in my stomach. Again I still haven't told him how I feel but I know it's not the right time yet. Akashi-kun seems to be interested in me as much as I'm interested in him. But my question is, does he feel the way I feel? I'm not sure but the reason why I assume is that he always comes up to me whenever I feel lonely. I'm still figuring out if he's going out with Mibuchi-kun. I don't want to ask him if he is but at least Akashi-kun makes me feel less lonely.
Akashi: So Kuroko, do you want to hang out sometime on the weekend?
Akashi-kun asked and I nodded. Then I thought to myself if I can be able to get a ride to Kyoto because that's where he lives and it's pretty far. I don't know if my mom wants to drive that far to Kyoto, she doesn't like driving far.
Me: Sure Akashi-kun, I would love to but I'm not sure if I can make it to Kyoto because it's too far from where I live.
Akashi: Oh if you can't make it to Kyoto, which I understand, then maybe I can come to Tokyo on my private jet plane or limo.
I smiled and nodded. I'm glad he talked about hanging out and it makes me find the right time of telling him how I feel. Wait, what if he feels the same way? I know other people don't come up to me randomly and notice me right away but this guy always comes up to me. As our rides were here we waved each other goodbye and we promise to text each other.
I'm at the car with my mom thinking about him and how I will be able to express how I feel. I enjoy getting to know Akashi-kun more. I hope his friends from the student council club even Mibuchi-kun and his strict father accept me for being with Akashi-kun, that's what I'm worried about. I always wonder what his house looks like because he told me he's wealthy.
