Chapter 39: Minutes After

That smile.. I want to protect it at all costs!!!

Team YAGA arrives at Beacon with Akame being the first one of and immediately heading back to the room. She had been calling Y/n's scroll since they took off but to no avail.

Akame: "Come on please just-"

She turns the corner to see team RWBY with shocked expressions. Team JPNR weren't looking so well either as none spoke a word. Ruby's eyes were wide open as she was curled up in a ball, leaning against the wall. Weiss and Blake were confused while Yang looked depressed.

Akame: "Girls, what happened?!"

They all jump up and tense up as soon as they heard Akame's voice. They looked away as if not wanting to acknowledge her at the moment. Akame tilted her head as the rest of her team arrived.

Acnologia: "Akame"

Akame: "What?"

She looked over to see Acnologia pointing at their room. Ozpin, General Ironwood and another officer walked out of the taped room.

Akame: "Ozpin!!"

She ran up to him as he excused himself from the rest.

Ozpin: "Miss Sora, how can I help you?"

Akame: "Y/n, where is he?!"

She looked inside and saw a mess. Slashes across the walls, furniture destroyed, it looked as if a war had just happened in the compact space.

Akame: "What... Where is he?"

Ozpin looked at her and simply put a hand on her shoulder.

Ozpin: "Unfortunately, I can't really tell you much other than I'm sorry"

He glanced back to see Ironwood starring at him. He gave Akame a hug and whispered something to her.

Ozpin: "You're free to go in when I distract him. The window will let you know where he went. Check the lockers after"

He let her go and went back to discuss with the general. Akame was at a loss of words as she walked in. There was some blood on the floor and the window was smashed. She continued to look around as the only thing that looked salvageable was a picture that Y/n and Akame took after their date.

Akame: "Y/n?"

She walked over to the window and saw blood trails down below. A bench was destroyed from what she could assume was from him throwing someone out or even himself. She looked around and dropped down.

Akame: "The trail leads to another window"

She walked along the path as she noticed a trail of something strong scraping the floor. She jumped back into the school as another trail of blood leads into a room. She walks in and checks the place out.

Akame: "The blood trail ends here.. but-"

She remembers Ozpin's final words and immediately takes off towards the locker room.

Upon arriving, she notices some more tape and more officers walking out. She sneaks past them and walks around. Bullet holes in the wall indicate that this was the ending to the battle. More blood was everywhere as she sees a hand printed on a familiar locker. She walks over to it and enters the combination. It opens and sees it empty.

Akame: "His stuff are gone?"

She gets a chill down her spine as she notices white chalk next to her. She refuses to turn to look at it as a tear rolls down her eye. Hesitantly, she slowly turns her head to see a silhouette, about the size of Y/n, on the ground.
