Wrote this while listening to Daddy Daddy Do... on repeat. I don't know why I choose it, maybe because it's a banger but it helped me stay focused and motivated the whole time.

I rush over to her as swords begin to float up and fly with me. Esdeath created a couple of shards of ice and sent them my way. I threw the swords her way, they crash into each other and explode. I dodged an incoming spawn of ice and throw both Kanshou and Bakuya at her before tracing Rho Aias before me. It appeared in time to stop an attack of hers in it's track. She puts two walls beside her to stop the two swords from hitting their mark.

Esdeath: "It's as if you can predict my attacks. How are you doing that?!"

Y/n: "A magician never reveals his tricks"

I smile at her at putting my hand out. I close it into a fist causing the two blades to explode, causing her to loose her composure for a second. I rush in with another set of Kanshou and Bakuya. I jump up to her with both hands in hand and try to attack her. She builds a wall in time and uses it to trap me in the wall by freezing my feet and hands.

Esdeath: "Got you!!"

She stops and notices a smug grin on my face.

Y/n: "Just as I thought, you'd pull it off"

Kanshou and Bakuya expand and strike her in the chest and shoulder. I had learned about this form with my battle with the red archer. He had called it Overedge.

The ice breaks and I immediately put up another Rho Aias as she fires a barrage of ice at me. It sends me flying away and land but have to immediately run and dodge from the incoming attacks.

Esdeath: "You bastard!!!"

I continue to run circles around her as she continues her attack. I trace my bow and put an arrow with a green tip. I aim it up and fire it. I trace a Flying Raijin and teleport immediately. I put up a powerful Rho Aias as a shower of green arrows rained down to the ground.

Y/n: "Phoebus Catastrophe!!"

They fire down onto us as I hear her screams in the background. I felt an attack coming but decided it was best to take the attack head on rather than suffer a hit from the Noble Phantasm. A small pillar came from the ground and hit me in the stomach as I grunted a little. Once it finished, I broke from the ice and looked out to see a makeshift barrier of ice in the distance. It didn't hold up to well but I knew that Phoebus didn't kill her.

Y/n: "Looks like things are going to have to take a little longer"

The wall fell revealing a heavily injured Esdeath. She struggled to walk but still managed to stand up.

Esdeath: "Why.. Why do you defy me even though I'm doing this for the greater good of the world?"

Y/n: "I too had a dream. A dream to become a hero that would save the world, but that all changed. I realized that it never truly was my dream. All I really wanted was to protect what I loved. Is that selfish? To risk the fate of the world for a girl? Absolutely. I knew that it would be going against the world if I tried to protect her but guess what?"

I trace Kanshou and Bakuya once again.

Y/n: "For Akame, I'd turn into a villain if I had to. I'd risk become evil for her, and I will not allow anyone to rob her from me or her pursuit of happiness!!"

Esdeath: "Then I'll kill you then!!"

She created a sword from the ice and charged me. Are swords collided with one another as we fought without using any outside powers. Every swing was filled with our will to make our dreams come true. Hers was to defeat me and take Akame's Murasame. If she succeeded, she would gain the weapon that could kill her true goal. Mine was to save Akame. To have her alive and with me. We both had the same objective, which was Akame, but for different purposes. I could not afford to tie or fail as I knew she thought as well. This battle was going to determine the fate of the world.
