Chapter 30: I'll Save Her

Sigurd makes it back home while being cautious of being followed. Once he enters his house, he breathes a breath of fresh air.

Sigurd: "Dear, I'm home. Is everything okay?"

He receives no response and worries.

Sigurd: "My love?!"

He holds wish sword infront of him while roaming the house.

Sigurd: "Brynhildr?!"

He makes it to the living room to find Y/n standing beside his lover with a sword to her neck.

Y/n: "Good to see you are with us. Take a seat"

Sigurd: "Leave her alone. She has nothing to do with this!!"

Y/n: "I said take a seat"

I press the tip of my katana on her neck as she let's out a small cry of pain.

Sigurd: "I'm going!! Just take the weapon from her neck"

Y/n: "I'll do what I want"

Sigurd places his weapon down as he takes a seat in the couch.

Sigurd: "There. Can you let her leave-"

Y/n: "What did I say? I'll do what I want. Now, Why don't you tell your wife why I'm here?"

Sigurd looks at her while he begins to sweat a little.

Y/n: "If I have to do it, I'll just kill her right after. I'm giving you a chance to not see that"

Sigurd: "Don't!! I'll tell her everything"

Brynhildr: "Sigurd?"

Sigurd: "... I am not always a business man. I used to work as a mercenary for hire. The money I earned was because of sed missions"

Brynhildr: "Sigurd?!"

She was taken aback by his sudden revelation.

Sigurd: "B-But I promise you I don't do that anymore!! I left that behind-"

Brynhildr: "The reason why he's here.. why he's targeted me.. why?"

Y/n: "Sigurd"

Sigurd: "I... I took someone from him"

Y/n: "She wasn't just anybody!! She was my everything!!"

I drive the blade onto Brynhildr's neck a little as my anger rises.

Sigurd: "Brynhildr!!"

Y/n: "Quiet you!! Stay back or I'll slice her head clean off!!"

He obeys as I order and I calm myself down.

Y/n: "Tell me where I can find her. Tell me where I can find Akame!!"

Sigurd: "I don't know. I was told to leave her off at some place where she'd be taken away. After that, I don't know where she could be"

Y/n: "That answer doesn't satisfy me"

Sigurd: "If you wish to cut down someone then do it to me?! Leave her out of this"

Y/n: "And what about Akame? You didn't have to take that deal. You could of left her out of this but what did you choose again?"

Sigurd: "Please, I beg you-"

Y/n: "As did I"

Sigurd: "Stop!!"

I bring my sword up before striking down but miss her head. Not because she dodged it, but because I purposely missed. Sigurd went straight for her as I walked away.
