At around 8:30pm all of the guests had now gone, apart from josh, Ethan, Jackson and Tyler, they were staying the night in jakes room. Cassie headed inside after cleaning up with the gift bag in her hand, she ran straight upstairs and opened the bag to put her new paints and pencils into her supply drawer, they made her happy even if it would just be for a little while.

Jay was downstairs with Pete and Katy, he had a funny feeling he would be going back to work with no evidence against Pete in a few days time since nothing was looking suspicious.  He knew the twins were upstairs so he sat down on the couch with the two adults, they had welcomed him in like one of their own even though he was just a 'babysitter'.

Cassie was about to get on with her schools art project when she could hear jakes music blasting from his room, he was really annoying her so she got up and headed towards his room.  She still had her dress on since she hadn't got changed yet, she opened his door without knocking as the music got louder.  She saw the boys playing on jakes play station as they were making a load of racket, "can you please quieten down a bit? At least turn your volume down..." she spoke kindly since she wasn't there to start an argument.  Jake scoffed, "oh wait boys...can you hear that? Is that a rat speaking?" He joked which made the boys laugh.  Cassie shook her head, "I was being nice, so, can you turn it down?" She sighed.

Jake put his controller down with an abrupt slam, "no, now get out!" He huffed loudly, the boys were all laughing and waiting for a fight to break out.  Cassie scoffed, "Jake I can't concentrate, so turn it down and stop showing off!" She raised her voice.  Jake pulled a face then shoved her shoulders sharply, she quickly fell backwards and landed on the floor, "cass, I didn't mean to..." he spoke gently with regret.  Cassie held back her tears, the siblings argued all the time but he had never intentionally hurt her.  She stood up and pulled her dress down slightly before pushing Jake back, by now jakes friends were letting out little snickers amongst themselves.  "You didn't mean to? Of course you didn't..." she scoffed sarcastically.

Jake regained his balance from her push, she wasn't as strong as he was so she didn't manage to push him to the floor but she made him pretty mad.  He looked at her with anger before forming a fist and swinging it at her face, thud, the room fell speechless.  Jake had just punched his sister with a great force and she was now on the floor, she wasn't unconscious but she was hurt.  The only thing that could be heard was the music playing from jakes speakers.

The three adults were talking on the couch and watching the TV when there was a small thud on the floor and the laughter and chatter from the boys stopped, they all looked at each other before they stood up and ran upstairs in case something bad had happened.  Pete got to jakes room first, followed by Katy, then jay right behind them.  They all stepped into jakes room and formed a small line where they were greeted by jakes bloody hand which was still in a tight fist and Cassie sat on the floor hunched over.  "What happened in here?" Pete huffed sharply.  The boys were all silent and Jake was stood still in shock, shocked at the fact that he actually just hurt his sister.

"I..." Jake shook his head and relaxed his hand with a surge of regret.  Cassie let out a sniffle and took her hand away from her lip, there was blood, a lot of it.  There was a moment of silence as jays eyes darted down to the blood on cassies shaking hand but her head was still down, "Jake, what happened?" Pete repeated himself.  Jake shrugged his shoulders, "she came into my room telling me to turn my music down so I-I don't know, we argued I guess...then I-I..." he stuttered and looked at the blood on his knuckles, the blood of his sister.  Pete gathered up what had happened, "so you punched her..." he tilted his head.  Jake looked lost for words but nodded slowly.  Pete huffed, "Cassie get up" he grabbed his daughters arm and pulled her up to her feet.

Cassie winced slightly as she regained her eyesight back, "go to your room" he waved her out.  "Ryan could you clean her up?" Katy looked at jay.  Jay smiled and nodded, "of course" he walked out and over to cassies room, he was full of worry. When he got into her room he walked into her bathroom to see her washing the blood off her hands, "it's okay, come here" he grabbed the first aid box from the cupboard and placed it on the counter. Cassie kept her head down, "let's get this cleaned up" he pulled out some antiseptic wipes. Cassie lifted her head up but avoided his gaze since she was upset and she had teary eyes, jay frowned but cleaned up her cut which Jake had given to her lip. He placed a paper stitch on it since it wasn't that deep, "all sorted, you okay?" He asked an obvious question.

Cassie finally met his gaze, "I didn't think he would ever do that..." she spoke quietly. Jay frowned, "it's not your fault" he smiled and put the first aid box back. Cassie shrugged her shoulders, she went to say something else but her dad walked into a room, "thanks Ryan, I've got it from here" he smiled weakly. Jay turned around and nodded before he left her room hesitantly. Cassie walked out of her bathroom and into her bedroom, "how many times have I got to tell you? do not bother your brother when he has friends around!" He shouted in her face. Cassie flinched, "I only asked him to turn his music down..." she shook her head and looked down. Pete scoffed, "that's the problem, you annoy everyone. You got what you deserved now you're staying in here for the rest of the night" he controlled his anger and left her room. He locked her door from the outside, great, she's like a prisoner.

Jay was in his guest room stood listening in to the argument, Cassie was being punished? He wanted to walk out and sort the parents out right now but he couldn't, instead he just had to watch until he could help Cassie. "She's staying in her room for the night, don't bother talking to her till morning. She's really pushing my buttons" Pete scoffed and handed the keys over to Katy, jay was watching through the crack of the door, he saw that Pete had locked cassie in her room. How low could he go? Is he really this cruel or is this some kind of prank?

Cassie quickly got changed out of her bloody dress, the tears were flowing like a fountain down her cheeks, pain, is all she could feel, both physically and mentally. She put on some comfort clothes and dived into the bed where she could scream into her pillow and make it sound muffled so no one would hear.

Her hoodie was like 2 sizes too big for her, which was good, she could hide away like she did all the time. Only this time she was hiding away from herself since she couldn't run anymore, she only had herself now she was caged up in her room. She cried for about 15 minutes before she got up and added to her art project since it usually calmed her down. She had her music on quietly unlike Jake did, he did however turn the music down after he'd been told off for having it so loud, that made her laugh a little.
