what do i do now?

                   Jay and hailey ran up the steps of Katy's house and knocked on the door to be instantly greeted by Jake as he opened the door after the first knock, they walked inside and waited for Jake to say something, "she just left, she had nothing with her. Only her jacket..." he stuttered with tears in his eyes.  Jay placed a hand on his shoulder, "we're gonna find her okay? We're gonna do everything we can starting now, that's why I need you to be brave and tell me which way she went okay?" He nodded.  Jake took a deep breath and faced the window, "she went left, then it looked like she ran across the road and kept going straight..." he nodded.  Jay looked at hailey, "I'll call Voight and tell him to send out a BOLO" hailey nodded then walked into the kitchen for some quiet.

                    Jake sat down on the arm chair, "what do I do now?" He shook his head in worry, "what if she's dead..." he looked up at jay in even more worry.  Jay shook his head, "shhhh, hey hey hey, look at me bud, we're doing everything we can to find her and even though she could be anywhere, we have eyes on the whole city, so we'll find her in no time" he smiled sadly.  Jake nodded, "my mom gets back from work in 5 hours, can I stay with you guys?" He looked down.  Jay nodded, "we'll take you back to the district with us don't worry" he smiled and squeezed the kids shoulder. Jake nodded and looked up as hailey joined them again, "he's notifying the team now, let's go" she opened the door.

Back at the district jay lead Jake into the break room and sat him down with a snack and a drink, it was currently 14:35pm and they had a lot to work through so he left the teenager alone and joined the team to help, "alright, so I marked off the pods but there's nothing on them. It looks like she's stuck to the alleyways, she probably thought they'd be safer but there aren't many cams around the cordoned area, we did however find footage from outside of an atm machine a half a mile out" Kim tilted the screen to them all. They all watched as they saw Cassie walking past an atm with her jacket ripped on the sleeve, "this was two days ago" she looked up. Jay sighed and rubbed his face, "she looks hurt" he shook his head and placed his hands on the top of his head out of stress.

Hailey nodded, "we got anything else?" She looked around. Hank nodded, "I sent out the BOLO's 10 minutes ago and three hits have been sent back, one was a fad, the other was a false alarm but the third one seemed legit until we checked it out on the traffic cams" Kevin sighed. Jay nodded, "we have footage?" He got hopeful again. Vanessa sighed sadly, "we do, but it's not pretty" she shook her head and rolled over to her own desk. She pulled up the footage they received as the team gathered around.

She let the footage roll sadly, the team just stood there watching the black and white footage of Cassie running down the street in a sketchy neighbourhood until she comes to a halt when a man tries to snatch her up. She really didn't look well, she had no jacket on and she was limping, but that didn't phase her, she still put up a fight and it resulted in her scrambling away in the other direction. After the clip ended Vanessa pulled her screen back as the team looked over at Jake in sadness, the brother is so scared for his twin.  Jay sighed, "where are we with the missing persons report?" He grabbed their attention again.  Hank nodded, "it's out there, every district has a copy" he folded his arms.  Great, now it's just a waiting game...

Jake looked up at the clock on the wall to see the time, shoot, it's now 7:45pm and his mam would be home in 5 minutes. He stood up and walked to the door before opening it to reveal a hard working police unit cracking away, "my moms gonna get home in 5..." he sighed. Jay looked at the time then at hank, "go get her" hank waved him and hailey off. The partners wasted no time in jumping up to get into jays truck and rushing to the house so they could snatch Katy up and find out what was going through her head when kicking her daughter out into the unsafe streets of Chicago.

                   They arrived at the house just as Katy got out of her car, "Katy you're under arrest for child neglect and abandonment" jay grabbed her wrists harshly and cuffed her up.  Katy looked around, "but my sons in the house..." she reasoned.  Hailey shook her head, "you have two children, ones currently missing and the others at the station. So move it" she edged the woman into the car.  She was driven to the precinct where she confessed to kicking Cassie out and leaving Jake locked in a room but that didn't make much difference anymore.  Cassie was still out there, alone and scared, probably nearing death by now too, and it was midnight already.  Hank made them stay and work until 2am but at that point they were running off coffee and they still had nothing so they had to leave it there for today and let their demons take over their sleep.
