Cassie was walking along the sidewalk, dragging her right leg behind, she had been through hell in these past 6 days and she didn't know how much longer she could carry on running for. She found an area of grass to sit down on which didn't look too sketchy so she trampled over the overgrown hedge and walked over to the apartment complex wall and sat her back against it so she could rest for a few minutes.
She just sat there with her eyes closed, her head back and her hands across her stomach. Yesterday she got beat up for running through a block which was known for selling drugs, the day before that she was chased out of a convenient store for asking for help, and two days before that she was jumped for no reason. Not to forget the bullet she nearly took for not giving a man her jacket. So in conclusion, she had no jacket anymore, her shirt was ripped apart practically and her leggings were covered in blood. She felt like she couldn't go on any longer but she wanted to live, for Jake, for herself.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when a shadow blocked the minimal sunlight in front of her, her eyes slowly fluttered open to reveal a man stood hold a gun in her face, "woah woah woah, hey look, I'll move along if I'm in the way..." she put her hand out. The man laughed, "stand up" he slurred. Cassie obeyed his order and stood up without taking her eye line off the gun, "good, now go into that alleyway over there" he shooed her away. Once again Cassie obeyed and walked into the alleyway which was barely lit up by street lights since it was now 7:30pm, "please don't..." she turned around but it was no use in begging for help now, she was screwed.
He fired a round of bullets and watched the teenager fall to the floor, one, two, three, missed, five, missed, seven... She endured a grand totally of five out of seven bullets in many areas of her body. Two in her right leg, one in her shoulder, one in her left thigh and the last one right next to her belly button, that delicate fatal spot... She cried in pain and rolled over onto her back as she watched the shooter run away, why her? What did she do? What was his motive? She took a deep breath and mustered up the remaining energy she had left, "help me..." she yelled but it was barely over a cry. She just accepted that no one was gonna find her, she could see black spots blurring her vision and decides to let the darkness take over...
A man happily walking his dog thought he was just going for a nice stroll until he walked passed an alleyway, "oh my god..." he jumped and covered us mouth with his hand. His eyes darted down to the young girls body which looked pretty dead to him, he gasped and shook his head before tying his dogs lead around a lamppost and telling it to stay which it did. He slowly walked over to the young girl and saw the huge pool of blood that she was laying in, he crouched down and placed his two fingers into the crook of her neck. He let out a sigh of relief when he felt the shallow pulse throbbing throughout her veins, "you're gonna be okay, if you can hear me darling, you're gonna be okay..." he let a tear roll down his cheek, this was heart breaking. He pulled his phone out and dialled 911 immediately.
Dispatch: "9-1-1, whats your emergency?"
Man: "I'm with a young girl, she's been shot multiple times"
Dispatch: "where is your location?"
Man: "east on 72nd"
Dispatch: "how many bullet wounds can you see?"
Man: "uhm, 4 maybe, possibly even 5. She's got a pulse but it's shallow"
Dispatch: "can you ID the victim? Look for a name tag or any form of identification"
Man: "uhmmm, the back of her shirt says Cassie and the last name looks like evans but it's too faint to read"
Dispatch: "okay that's great, help is on the way sir"
Man: "thank you..."~~~~~~~~
The team were sat cracking on with the search for Cassie when Trudy ran up the stairs, "a passerby's found her, she's east on 72nd" she looked around at them all. Jay stood up, "is she okay?" He grabbed his things as the unit began doing the same. Trudy shook her head, "she's been shot at least 4 times, the passerby said she's got a pulse but it's shallow" she frowned. Jay looked at hailey in worry, "let's go" hank waved them out. They all geared up rapidly then ran down to the garage to get into their cars and speed over to Cassie since they could only hope that she's okay...
Jay immediately jumped out of the truck the second it was parked up and ran over to the man who was waving his hands, "I don't know if she's holding out..." the man flustered around. Jay nodded and slid to the floor, "cass? C'mon honey wake up for me..." he lightly tapped her face but there was no use, she wasn't gonna wake up, "Kev come and give us a hand" hailey waved him over. They needed as many hands as they could to control the injuries, "how many are there?" Kevin knelt on the floor and took the shoulder wound. Jay counted up, "5, there's 5. Ruz we need you!" He shouted over. The ambulance came fairly quickly and she was immediately rushed to med, no one was allowed to ride in the back since she was in critical condition but they all followed the ambo to med after clearing the scene.
