Jay ran into the waiting room at med in a panic but will spotted his brother and walked outside to see him immediately, "hey, you here about the young girl?" The red head nodded. Jay nodded, "yeah I am, is she in surgery yet?" He looked at his brother in worry. Will nodded sadly, "is she gonna make it?" Jay added, Will frowned, "there is hope" he stated doubtfully. Jay sighed, "just tell me the truth, is she gonna make it or not..." he looked at the floor desperately, he didn't want a standard answer.

Will sighed, "as of right now, I don't think she will, but if the surgery goes well and the internal bleedings stopped then maybe. 5 bullet wounds is a lot for a fully grown adult let alone a teenager, it's hard to say man. I'm sorry" he squeezed his brothers arm.  Jay nodded, "thanks..." he tapped his brothers arm then turned around to walk over to the team.  He took a deep breath, "she's in surgery, will says she might have a chance" he smiled sadly.  Hank nodded, "you and hailey stay here, we'll go work on any new leads" he smiled weakly back.  Jay and hailey nodded as the team ran out of the hospital, silence.

8 hours later, there was still nothing, no sign of peace, nothing, or so they thought. Jay and hailey had been sat in a comfortable silence for about an hour, their minds were too busy being preoccupied with negative thoughts, they were snapped out of their trances when Will walked over to them. The red head folded his arms, "she's out of surgery, there was a few complications but dr Marcel overcome them and she's stable. We still won't know if she's okay until the meds have worn off but she's stable on the vent for now" he smiled sadly. Jay and hailey stood up then sighed thankfully, thank god for that, they knew she was strong enough to pull through.

                    Jay nodded, "whats the damage?" He sighed sadly, "well, we think we're gonna have to put her into a medically induced coma when she wakes up. The bullet wounds have been sorted out, there was three through and throughs but two of the bullets were lodged in there pretty good. She had a ruptured appendix so that had to be removed and she's got a broke leg. She will make a full recovery if she pulls through but we just gotta wait it out for now" he frowned a little. Jay looked at hailey and huffed, "god, okay... can we see her? Or her brother?" He added. Will smiled, "you can see her yeah, tell her brother to come down too" he nodded supportively.

                   The pair walked into cassies room expecting to see a nightmare but it wasn't, she just looked at peace, "poor kid, it's so brutal" hailey gasped.  Jay nodded as the pair sat down, "she's a fighter" he huffed to himself, he can still recall the conversations and laughs he had with her a few months ago, now she's here fighting for her life. She looked so peaceful and at rest, as if she was out of pain, but they both knew that wasn't true, she was probably in the worst pain ever.

Jake walked through the hospital room door slowly, the pair looked up to see his dad expression, "come here" jay pulled up a chair and let the young boy sit next to him as hailey scooted over. Jake nodded and sat down, "is she gonna be okay?" He looked down at the floor, he wasn't even able to bring himself to look at his sister. Jay smiled sadly, "she's got a chance jake, she's a fighter" he nodded. Jake nodded, "is it bad?" He finally looked up at his sister. Hailey smiled sadly, "she's been in surgery so it's all better now, it's not as bad as it was before kiddo" she shook her head. Jake nodded and finally sighed, he took cassies hand in his, "can she hear us?" He looked up at jay.

Jay shrugged, "I'm not sure bud, she might be able to. How about you have some time alone with her?" He smiled. Jake nodded, "okay..." he watched them stand up and begin to leave, "stay strong for her" jay squeezed his shoulder. Jake bit back his fear and nodded sadly, "I will..." he smiled weakly as they left the room. He looked back at his sister, "I'm sorry cass, I really am. I should've stopped mom but she wasn't listening to me... She's in big trouble now, I don't think we're gonna see her again either. I've been staying with a nice family though, they're really nice and kind. God I hope you can hear me..." he rested his head on her hand.

He looked back up after a few minutes with tears in his eyes, "please pull through cass, I really need you..." he shook his head. He paused for a minute before squeezing her hand, "I love you so much" he held it tighter and rested his head on it again. It wasn't long before he dozed off into a small nap, not even realising that the doctors had been in and out of her room many times to check on her. It's going to be a long wait...
