Sophie POV

Even after she had been under the covers for many minutes, Sophie couldn't fall asleep, let alone find a comfortable position.

She tossed and turned, she was overheating and freezing at the same time. Her mind was blurry and thick, and she couldn't pin down one thought.

Sophie would much rather be awake right now.

She tried to call out for help, but no sound came out. She tried to yell, shout, scream, but still nothing happened.

Until the memories started to form shapes. And then they started to grow into figures. And then they were perfectly clear.

At first,  Sophie wasn't sure what was happening. She could see herself. Standing in a cave. She was much younger, maybe around twelve years old, and wore some kind of white tunic.

The view shifted, and showed another boy behind her. He was clothed in a deep red shirt, and his blonde hair was wind swept, almost looking styled that way. Sophie recognized him.

Keefe? How was he in her memories?

There was another figure in the front of the cave. But it wasn't human. The figure was much bigger, and stood on four legs.

A horse? Wait, no, a unicorn, Sophie corrected herself. Actually, nope. That horse had wings. Which meant it was an alicorn. She had sat through enough episodes of My Little Pony with Amy to know the difference.

Keefe was talking, talking to Sophie, but she couldn't hear him. It was like she was spectating a movie, a movie with no sound that is.

Suddenly, a crack ran down the floor of the cave and a small furry being popped out.

What was this memory? This was not in the United States, but she wasn't even sure if it was somewhere she knew!

Or, for that matter, somewhere she remembered. But if these were her memories—she was assuming they were—why didn't she remember them?

Snapping out of her chaotic mess of thoughts, she realized her past self was now holding what seemed to be a cookie.

Keefe spoke once again, not that she knew what he was saying. Before Sophie knew what was going on, past Sophie bit into the cookie, and the darkness overcame her as her mind once again became a blurry mess.
