chapter 1

Shinichi's alarm clock is ringing. He open his eyes slowly and grab his alarm clock to check what time is it already. It's 6 am and he turn it off. He sit down on the bed and see he's alone in the bed again. It's not unusual for him to wake up alone. Ran, his wife always gets up earlier in the morning and do her thing. She likes to jog every morning with her students. She's a dedicated martial arts coach.

Almost 4 years ago they got married, they are living together in his Big house but they don't have a babies yet. She's focused on her career and Shinichi is a supporting husband. He wanted her to be happy and he knows she's happy being a coach. He knows Ran since they're kids. They grew up together and become high school sweethearts until college. He never have eyes for anyone, he can only see her and just wanna be with her that's why he asked her to marry him when they graduated and luckily she said yes.

He walk downstairs and headed to the kitchen. He didn't find any foods but there's a note on the table. He takes it and read;

'Sorry I don't have time to prepare your breakfast but please don't skip breakfast ok? Love you. -Ran.'

Shinichi sighed. This scene is always happening. Ran always forget his breakfast. He's used to it. Shinichi went to the bathroom and take a shower, after taking a shower he changed to his usual work attired. He's one of the greatest detectives in Japan. He's solving cases since he was in high school, he loves mystery and likes difficult ones. He likes challenging cases.

He went to his garage and get inside his car, he drives on the way to their office. After a 15 minutes drive he finally arrived. He went to his desk and turn on his computer. He sit down and busy himself working. A cup of coffee was placed on his table, he look up and see Shiho standing in front of him.

"It's not free. You have to pay me coz I got you a coffee." She said.

Shinichi suddenly smiled.

"Lunch is my treat." He offered.

"Sounds fair."

Kaito entered the room and walk towards them.

"Guys I think Ms Jodie will have an important announcement later." Said Kaito.

"About what?" Shinichi looks at him.

Shinichi drinks his coffee.

"I think she will group us into 2 or 3 for a special cases in different countries." Kaito answered.

"And so?" Shiho looks at him.

"I don't want to go in other countries because I'm planning to asked my girlfriend to marry me." Kaito said.

Shinichi laughs.

"What's funny about it huh Shinichi?"

"It's better if you don't settle down." He joked.

"Why better? I love my girlfriend so much and I know she feels the same way. And i can literally see my future with her."
