chapter 22

Shiho's busy with her laptop while sitting on the bed. Shinichi's phone rings and it's nearby on Shiho's side. she takes a look at his phone screen.

1 Message from Hattori...

Shinichi gets out of the bath.

"You got a message from Heiji." She said.

"What did he say?" He asks.

"I didn't open it."

"Why not?"

"I don't wanna use your phone and read messages."

"But you are free to use and read my messages you know..."

"Is that because I'm your..." Shiho blushes.

"My girlfriend." he smiles.

'Hearing it from him is like music in my ears.' her thoughts.

"Even I got permission to use your phone I still won't use it. I have my own phone and besides, I trust you."

Shinichi smiles at her. he sits down next to her and grabs his phone.

"Heiji wants to meet me tonight."

Shiho looks at him.

"Guys night out?"

"I think so."

"Then you must bring a condom since you're going out with that playboy."

"I'll just text him I can't go out because my stomach hurts."

"Don't make excuses, just go out with him. I also don't want him to think that there's something going on about us."

"You don't want?"

"Yeah. we should keep this a secret until you're finally free from her."

Shinichi held her hand.

"When I got my divorced paper I'll definitely marry you right away, I promise."

"Idiot!"

Shinichi laughs.

"I'm effing serious alright." His eyes are meeting her gaze.

"I'll marry you..." he said softly.

he kisses her hand.

"Then I'll wait on that day." She said, giving him a genuine smile she rarely gives to others.

Meanwhile In Japan...

Ran went inside their house with her best friend Sonoko. they sat down on the couch.

"Are you sure about this Ran?" asked Sonoko.

"What do you mean?"

"Coming back here to surprise Shinichi."

"Well it's been months since we had a misunderstanding and it's the perfect time to fix our issues. I'm now planning to quit my job for him to give him my full attention and affection." Ran smiles.

"You worked hard and you'll just throw it away for Him? Ran you have to think about this again! I know you love him even he's totally an idiot but quitting your job isn't a solution you know?"

"Well, we will talk about it but if he wants me to quit then I'll listen this time, I need to make it up to him. I admit I hurt him but I regret it now. distancing myself from him makes me realized how much I love and missed him so much."
