chapter 30

Shiho's quietly eating alone in the cafeteria. There are a few people having their lunch and peacefully eating. The man with the pale gold hair suddenly appears in her sight holding a tray of his lunch.

"Hi, can I sit here?" He nicely asks.

Shiho ignores him and he just sits down across her.

"There's a lot of available tables, why did you even sit in front of me?" She coldly asks.

Shiho can feel that some ladies are staring at them and whispering things.

"Well... you're the only one here from my department so I chose to eat lunch with you." He grins.

She stands up and leaves without responding to him. Rei is watching her walking away.

"Wow..." he said almost whispering.

"Shiho isn't friendly to everyone." Heiji suddenly shows up.

Rei looks at him.

"Anyway, can we sit here?" He asks.

"We?"

"I'm saving my friends a seat too."

Rei nods. Heiji sits down across from him.

"My name's Heiji Hattori, I am a detective." Heiji introduces himself.

"My name's..."

"Rei Furuya. A scientist who originally come from the USA. You're also a detective and womanizer." Heiji smiles.

Rei chuckles.

"Everything you said about me was correct but I have to disagree about being a womanizer."

"It's ok dude, ya don't have to deny being a womanizer, it's a common thing when you have a handsome face just like mine."

"You're a funny guy." Rei smiles.

"So... you know Shiho?" Rei changed the topic.

"Yeah."

"Why isn't she friendly to everyone?"

"That's her. It's hard to befriended with her. I don't understand her sometimes."

"But are you friends with her?"

"I think so. We worked in the Philippines before... but I don't know if she still considers us friends."

"Oh... there's  a mission you've worked on?"

"Yeah. We're a team. We're actually four."

"I see."

"HEIJIII!!!" Kaito shouted.

Kaito and Shinichi walk towards them and are seated. Shinichi's sitting next to Heiji while Kaito was with Rei.

"Thanks for saving us! Now we can eat all together." Kaito happily said.

"We should be thanking to our new friend Rei." Heiji's smiling at him.
