Marinette's POV
"F-Father?"
Adrien lowered from the elevator and stood in shock.
"Adrien! What do you mean father?" I asked worriedly
Adrien began to shake.
"T-this is my basement. I found the elevator is my father's basement," he trembled
Gabriel Agreste was always a suspicious man but I would never think of him to be the infamous Hawkmoth.
If Adrien let anymore negative emotions he could get akumatized.
"W-why?!" Adrien cried
Hawkmoth smirked and gestures to the long bridge leading up to an illuminated case. I took a closer look and realized that it wasn't just a case. Inside held Adrien's mom. I was unsure if she was dead or alive but Adrien stood wide-eyed.
"I'm doing this for you, for me, for your mother, for us," Hawkmoth explained
"Using our miraculouses will only cause more harm! Please re-think this!" I pleaded
Adrien ran towards the case with his mom and tears flew out of his eyes.
"This isn't right father!"
"Just give me your miraculous and we can bring her back!"
"You know that's not how it works!"
They argued and Adrien pleaded for Gabriel to stop.
As they were shouting at each other, I reached down to my feet and began to untie the rope.
After a couple seconds I managers to get it undone and slipped out of the rope.
I stood up and ran to grab Hawkmoth's miraculous but two hands pulled me back and wrapped my hands behind my back.
"Sir, the girl almost escaped,"
The lady spoke and I recognized her voice.
I turned around to see Mayura with her hands wrapped around me holding me in place.
"Thank you for grabbing her Nathalie,"
Nathalie. Adrien and his father's assistant. It all made sense now. Who else would've it been? A man who stays in his house 24/7 and a loyal assistant with a look of love written into her eyes.
Love can be blinding, i'd know out of anyone.
"Nathalie," Adrien whispered under his breath
I'm sure this was a lot for him to take in. It was a lot for me to take in and I barely even knew his family
"Adrien! You have to stay positive! You can't let your father akumatize you!" I shouted
Adrien's POV
The back-to-back unexpected news slowly shattered my heart.
My mother had been here the whole time. I wanted to save her, I really did. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to do what's important for other people and not your own personal gain.
Suddenly, I felt very sick to my stomach. The sensation of sickness spread throughout my body, half-paralyzing me .
I attempted to sit down and re-gain my senses but failed.
A dark haze surrounded my vision and my hearing became unclear.

Marinette's POV
"Adrien, stay awake!" I begged
It was too late.
Adrien tried to sit down but he slowly lost consciousness and fainted.
I couldn't blame him but now Hawkmoth would be able to steal his ring. I couldn't even help him. I just want to comfort him. You'd think his father would have some sympathy.
A feeling of hopelessness washed over me.
This was it.
It was all over.
