L's point of view
It was hard to concentrate as the man was on my mind, like most days. I want to be close to you, I know in my heart that somehow we will see each other again but it has been so long. How can I confess in words how much I care for you? The Kira case was closed so long ago and it pains me to think of all the things I did to you Light-Kun. All the ways I've wronged you.
Do you hate me?I sighed, looking over the arrangement of sweets, I felt sickened at the thought of never seeing Light again. Never seeing the rich brown locks and devilish eyes masked by that sweet face of his.
I picked up a piece of candy, ignoring the feeling of sickness and placed it into my mouth savouring the sweet taste. Maybe I shall call him? After all I was in Japan I thought shaking the thought away.
If I was him I'd never want to see me again. Handcuffing him, accusing him of being a psychopath and a serial killer and then locking him up for 50 days. I sighed, rubbing my eyes of the guilt and sadness that tried to seep out. That's when I noticed Watari walking in the room.
"Master Ryuzaki, I think you should go have some sleep," Watari suggested, I shrugged refusing to waste my time. I didn't need sleep, I needed clarity. I needed to know Light didn't hate me.
"Well at least take a break, the case will still be here when you get back," Watari added giving me an intense look. Sighing, I got up and decided to go to my favourite coffee shop for some cake. Watari offered to drive and on a normal day I would have agreed but today was not a normal day.
After a 10 minute walk, I had arrived at the shop. Taking a deep sigh, I entered to be instantly greeted by a waitress that showed me to my table and left for me to look over the menu. Hmm, it's not as nice as the day I went with Light-Kun but that was such a long time ago.
Sighing, I called for the waitress and ordered a milkshake. Not too long after she brought over the strawberry flavoured drink. Thanking her I took a sip sighing loudly once again.
Honestly, this new case is killing me it's obvious who the murderer is all I need is the proof. The case should be officially done within the hour, the plan is now in motion and I no longer have to do anything. Case closed. Suddenly I could hear a high pitch squeal, it took every fiber of my self control to keep myself from spitting the milkshake goodness out.
Misa Amane.
I looked briefly over the partition to see she was on her own. But that couldn't be right? There must have been someone with her. Who is she talking to? On the left side of me was a large sculpted wood furnish that acted as a fence keeping the booths separated.
I settled back in my seat feeling the slight urge to leave, but the curiosity and my full glass kept me still. God she is loud, why can't she sound like how she does when she's singing so sweet and...
"Light," She squealed again which made me flinch. It seemed that her companian had moved from their booth and now stood before me. It was Light-Kun! I thought feeling excitment burst through my veins. I looked up noticing the subdued smile yet gleeful glint in the eyes of the brunette. The look I wanted to see the most. The thing I had craved to see.
"Ryuzaki, I didn't expect to see you here, how have you been?" Light said in a polite manner as his hand laid against the table.
"I've been better," I said flinching at the blond as her head popped up from the other side of the fence.
"Do you dislike me that much for you to say that?" Light asked chuckling, his face slightly tighter than usual.
"Excuse my poor phrasing, I didn't mean for it to come out that way, it was not my intention. I certainly do not dislike you and your presence has actually been the most eventful part of today... It's actually very nice to see you again," I said realising the error in my previous words. I blushed slightly, taking the last sip of my milkshake before getting up. Why am I so bad at talking?
"I shall be going now, you two enjoy your date," I said as I placed cash onto the table not wanting to stay any longer for fear of what else I could say. Walking out of the coffee shop, I was about to rush off across the road. It was then a hand grasped my arm bringing me to a stop.
"L... have you got plans at all today?" Light asked slightly sounding out of breath.
"No Light-Kun, I've finished my case for the day. Why is there something you need from me?" I replied.
"I was wondering on whether you wanted to catch up," Light answered revealing a grin. Confusion clouded my mind. Does he actually like my company?
"If Light-Kun is not busy," I answered curiously.
