“Come in.” A voice said as I knocked on the door to Snape’s office. I opened the door and walked in.

I saw Lisa out of the corner of my eyes, seeming to point out to the entrance and mouth something that probably meant “I was going to wait outside.” As I nodded and gave her a small smile. I then closed the door behind me, the echo making goosebumps cover my skin.

“Sit Leverett.” Snape said sharply, I pulled up a chair and placed my bag to the side of the table, then sat right at his desk, him on the other side.

I could feel the goosebumps turn into cold sweat, since I didn’t know what awaited me. The worst I’ll get is detention. I told myself, as I had read A Hogwarts History which said that now the highest punishment was detention, for the other ones were banned.

Though detention with Snape is no better, he would probably make me clean the cupboards and organize his ingredients three times, on purpose just to make me tired. I sighed as I saw Snape’s lip curl.

“Now, will you tell me why you are here today?” Snape asked. I bit my lip, trying my hardest to not cry in front of him.

“I-i was doodling in class.” I said quietly. Stupid. Absolutly stupid.

“Yes. Now, as for your punishment I think I am going to be nice.” Snape said, as he flicked his wand and a book flew out, landing right in front of the both of us.

A book? What is he going to make me read it by tomorrow? Because that's simple. I tried to observe the book but Snape placed his finger right on the cover, pointing at what the title said.

“This here is the year three potions book. You may be a first year but that is no excuse for anything.” He said coldly, seemingly reading my mind in the process. I didn’t dare utter a word even if he didn’t correct me simultaneously.

“Now, since it seems you like doodling so much. I will not be giving you detention but extra homework.” I sighed in relief as he said that, the last thing I need is detention. Though, homework can take up a ton of time depending on how I feel, and what class it is.

“I want you to draw out the exact details of each ingredient for a doxyvenom antidote, then write three different ways each ingredient could be used for other potions. The listings should all be in this book, if not I am sure you could ask from a fellow Ravenclaw in the higher years to borrow a book for potion standards.” Snape said, a small grin curling from the side of his mouth. Fair enough, I mean I’ll be learning something new, even though asking a fellow Ravenclaw for their book might be the hardest part.

“When is it due?” I asked quietly.

“Monday.” My eyes widened in shock as he handed me the book, my mouth hanging open.

“Now out!!” He commanded, I quickly picked up my bag and held the book tightly in my grasp as I shuffled out of the room, almost tripping over my own two feet as I walked through the door.

I rushed up the stairs, feeling tears water in my eyes but I rubbed them. It was not the time to be a cry baby, I mean what if I walked out and people saw me crying? That would probably be far worse than detention with Snape.

I pulled open the dungeon door and hurried up the stairs, almost missing Lisa as I practically rushed past her.

“Hey!! Blaze, wait up!!” She yelled from behind, I turned around and put on my best fake face, she gave me a small smile back.

    “Hey.” I said, looking down.

“So what happened with Snape? Do you have detention or something?” She asked me, I shook my head, she seemed to sigh in relief.
