Almost Is Never Enough
May 10, 2015

If I had to describe
Our love in one word
I'd say it would be 'almost'
And it may seem absurd

I almost fell too deep
Into the loathsome void
I thought it'd be steep
So I cared less to avoid

He almost stunned me
With his entirety
His words made it clear
That magnetism is his majesty

The struggle was real
By those all aside
The mutuality was a natural deal
And our hearts were destined to collide

It almost worked out
Because the efforts were fair
But as time passed
We almost didn't care

We fell apart
Because then, I didn't realize
That to love is to endure
And the sufferings are finalized

He wasn't aware that for love to last,
There should be efforts and trust
The torments and horror of the past
Completely had us two in a thrust

With complete disagreement
The mutuality started to fade
We weren't in for imbuement
So hasty choices were made

After some time
I knew it was still him
It was just a misunderstanding
And the strength was dim

And so I was prepared
Ready to make things right
But he found another girl
And I didn't want a fight

Regrets do come last
Because we weren't too careful
Our love was a piece of glass
It was shattered, then I wasn't thankful

I still cherish what we had
And I'd love to have it back
But mistakes have been made
The consequences are starting to stack

We almost made it
We almost broke the cuffs
But when choices are made hasty...
Almost is never enough

Note: Unfortunately, I am unable of updating this regularly. As you can see, most of my poems are about mushy, cheesy and sappy things about romance. I was able to write those because the difficulties were faced real-time and I had things to refer to (like harsh comparisons and never-ending assumptions). However, as of now, I'm living a happy life hahaha. No infatuation-related things for now. I am currently crush-less. It's so much better because there's less/no drama.
