It was currently the early hours of the morning at the metropolitan city of Seoul. The orange rays of sunlight reflected through Taehyung's brown eyes, turning them a few shades lighter. Under the sunrise, his lovely brown orbs looked close to golden.
Krystal stood frozen by the glass doors that led to his apartment's balcony, awed by this view that has been blessed to her at the beginning of her day. She tilts her head to the side, upon seeing smoke coming out of his lips. An invisible bulb lit up over her head as she connected the dots, still eyeing the oblivious man that had been deep in thought to not notice her presence only a few steps away.
"You smoke?"
Krystal finally broke the serenity of the morning by asking this question, earning a jerk from the younger male's shoulders. He looked back at her and gawked, fingers frozen in mid-air and jaw dropping as if he had been caught doing something oh-so-very illegal.
Her lips quirked up as she struggled to hide her amusement. Krystal had been genuinely surprised that he managed to keep this a secret from her for quite some time. Habits like smoking were rather difficult to hide, so it came as a shock to Krystal that Taehyung was a smoker.
He tried to say something, he really did. But upon meeting her eyes, he couldn't. Those enchanting, intrigued pair of eyes, - they had looked so pure on that Sunday morning. He did not want to lie to her, heck, he that knew he couldn't.
Taehyung couldn't bring himself do such a vile thing to her.
And after a while, when he failed to come up with intelligible, utterable sentences, the younger male could only curse a low "fuck" under his breath, thinking that she wouldn't notice it with the buzzy atmosphere.
But ... it was silent enough around the vicinity of his apartment for Krystal catch it.
"Smoking ... and a curser too? Naughty boy, Taehyung," She teased, clucking her tongue against the roof of her mouth.
His face turned red in embarrassment. He wished the world would open up into half and swallow him whole, right now.
Krystal swung her head lightly side to side, breaking visual contact with Taehyung to stare up at the morning dusk instead. A small smile played on her lips, finding joy in seeing him flustered.
Taehyung had always been one so confident with his moves and whatever he was about to do next, - so, seeing him getting all rattled up like this, perhaps because of her made her feel ... butterflies in her tummy.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She's had her hands around her sides, slowly rubbing them up and down to provide heat for herself, the cold winter wind brushing harshly against her skin. Finally stepping onto the wooden panels of his custom-designed balcony, she neared the boy who's nerves were close to exploding.
"K-Krystal, I-I can explain-" his mouth opened and closed, in a gape-like-manner, almost resembling to a goldfish.
"I-uh-" The younger stuttered once more.
Krystal, whom had found her way next to him, let out a small giggle, - a smile reaching her eyes.
Taehyung frowned.
"You're laughing," He stated.
"Yes Tae, as a matter of fact, I am laughing,"
Taehyung almost instantly panicked at their proximity. He knew that she was anaemic but he did not know the severity of her illness. The worst part is that he's read online that some anaemic patients can't tolerate smoke.
"Wait! Don't come closer, you're anaemic-" he held his hand out, putting the juul stick into the pocket of his pants hastily.
Krystal smiled, and it was at that moment she knew exactly why he had kept it as a secret from her.
