"Thanks," Krystal grumbled, taking the seat opposite him instead of the stool next to him. Taehyung of course had no say to this, and silently ate his soup, occasionally glancing at the petite female before her.
She's lost some weight, – he just knew it. It was evident. Up close he could see it all clearly: her cheeks were hollow and her jawline became more prominent.
"Have you been eating well?" He managed to muster out, embarrassed to even ask that because he really had no rights to.
She was right, last night. He left her and only came back when he spots a man hanging around her. How fragile could his masculinity be?
Krystal's replied with a hum, playing around with her spoon as she gazed upon the windows that bestowed them with the view of the Hangang River. It had looked so ethereal in the morning dusk, and the warm sunlight shone through the large windows of her kitchen.
She had a lot in her mind.
Why was he here?
What is he planning?
Was she going to get hurt again?
She shuddered at that last thought. She didn't want to get hurt again, at least not over a man.
Sighing she stood up, emitting a screeching sound in the silent space from the stool moving backwards.
"I can't do this," She muttered to no one in particular, but Taehyung knew it was meant for him.
Trotting out of the kitchen she headed back into her room and grabbed Taehyung's blazer and her oversized tee before walking back into the kitchen.
She didn't know what she was thinking, – heck, – she wasn't sure if she was, but she immediately stripped off Taehyung's button-down shirt, exposing her milky skin to the man watching before her.
Almost instantly he turned his head to the opposite side, not wanting to see Krystal in an inappropriate setting. He gulped when he felt his shirt on his skin, and when he looked back at her the oversized tee was already slipping halfway through her body.
"I can't do this, please go out," She utters softly, upset, but still maintaining her elegance and grace. She didn't make eye contact with him though, and kept on fidgeting and biting her lower lip.
Turning around to leave, she halts after a few steps and turned around to face him, eyes still facing the ground.
"Please leave once you've finished your breakfast. Thank you."
With that she turned around and left for her room, locking herself in.
Sliding down her plain-white door, she let out a huge breath that she didn't know she held in. Grabbing onto the spot where her heart was situated at, she clenches her teeth and shuts her eyes tight.
"Stupid! Stupid, stupid heart!"
Then came in the tears.
Hitting her chest repeatedly, she cried.
"Stupid! Stupid! Heart! He did you wrong, and yet you thumped so hard when you see him?"
She muffled her tears by putting an elbow over her nose.
Agony.
Pain.
Lingering.
All sorts of emotion went through her body and soul as she recalled what Taehyung looked like this morning. He looked like he belonged there with her. As if he never left her on that December night in 2019.
