June 3rd, 2016 - Paris

Krystal enters her room and jumped onto the fluffy, luscious 5-star hotel room bed. She's had a good day performing with Amber and Luna earlier, but a certain someone not replying to her texts all day was turning her cranky. She sighs as she pulls her phone over her head, staring at the blue bubble chats that belonged to her, waiting for the person on the other end to answer her.

From a bystander's point of view, she would have looked like a psychotic girlfriend, texting her boyfriend non-stop in order to know what he was doing.

But the thing is, none of this was normal. Jongin has not been answering her texts or calls for days and that was absolutely out of the norm. He wasn't usually like that. If he was busy with schedules, he'd still find a way to contact her somehow, but now he has disappeared into thin air.

And what she disliked the most is how this situation was taking a toll on her, indirectly affecting the people around her too. When gets moody, she tends to inflect her mood towards the people that she loved, and she hated that trait of hers.

She eyes the small device in her hand. Should she give him a call?

Would she looked too clingy then?

Ah, fuck it.

Pressing onto the glass screen she puts the phone up to her ears. It should be well after morning now in Seoul, seeing how it was just starting to get dark in Paris.

"Tuut ... tuut ... tuut ... tuut,"

Okay, so no one answered.

She calls for the second time, just to be sure.

What if he had been in the toilet and missed her call?

She missed him so much and she wants just a little bit of his affection right now. She was tired of her schedules and she needed to hear him whisper sweet, comforting things in her ears—

"Hello?"

Krystal's breath got caught in her throat. She could've swore that it was a female's voice ringing at the other end.

"Hello?"

Once again, the female voice calls out, starting to sound slightly ticked off.

Krystal's heart fell. No. It couldn't be. Kai and her had been with each other for almost 2 years and he's never showed red flags on being a cheater.

"Babe? Who's that?"

That voice.

She can't mistaken that voice for anyone else's. That's her boyfriend god damn it! And before he was her boyfriend, he was her best friend. One of the reason why her trainee days felt so short and bearable.

"I don't know oppa, they won't say anything," the feminine voice spoke, replying to the male.

At this point Krystal's hands were shaking in fatigue or anger,— even she herself didn't know. Her vision was cloudy, signalling that her eyes were filled with tears.

"Fuck," she hears him hiss.

"Soojung-ah, I can explain—"

Kai's voice came to a stop when he hears the sound of her sobbings. It was soft at first but in over a couple of seconds it grew louder until it became too agonising to listen to. Even Kai's heart wrenched a bit hearing her cries.

"How can you do this to me, Jongin-ah?"

She whispers, ghastly, and proceeds to hang the phone. She couldn't do it,— listen to his confrontation or whatever. She just can't. She's known the man ever since she was an adolescent and had looked up to him ever since.
