Krystal and Taehyung were walking side by side, basking in the July summer sun. Today was relatively their first time meeting after their last encounter. It didn't feel awkward, but they both were silent as they walked along the picnic trail.
During the period of time they had not met, the pair would occasionally send text messages to one another. For the past month, Taehyung was busy with his band's world tour while Krystal spent her days filming the reality show with her sister, so they both had not come back to Korea for quite sometime.
Okay, to be honest, they didn't only occasionally texted one another, but they did it almost everyday. There was never a day Taehyung would skip his usual morning texts to the girl and Krystal's favourite part of their messages is when they'd exchange the Spotify links to their favourite songs, a different one everyday. She enjoyed listening to his choice in music so much, as they matched hers. She secretly hoped that he liked the music she sends over to him too.
Stealing a glance at the man walking next to her, she bit a grin to herself. Music was truly indeed a way to know someone's personality, and she was already liking his.
Summertime in Korea was already starting to look really different compared to back in the States.
A good kind of different.
"I'm curious," Taehyung said, eyes on the little stones embedded in gravel path leading to a place that Krystal had wanted to bring him to.
"Hmm?" She questioned, a hair tucked back, wearing a beautiful lose white blouse and flared jeans, a picnic mat folded underneath her arms.
Taehyung was struggling to keep up with her because he had been holding onto the heavy picnic basket, but of course he wouldn't complain to prove he was masculine and very much capable enough.
"The project you worked on in 2017. Was it about him?" his voice turned soft towards the end, almost regretting asking the question when he noticed the pained look flashing across her face.
Krystal's steps became relatively slower, glancing at the younger male.
"I broke up with Kai sometime towards the end of 2016, — I don't remember the exact time. But I took some time off after that. Months, if I recalled correctly,"
"2016? But the news reported—"
"The news? I thought by now you would have realised that the news is not all too reliable, Taehyung-ie," she scrunched her tiny nose, laughing.
His heart did multiple jumps when he hears the nickname she gave him.
"We started dating long before 2016 and broke up end of that year. The news always reported things late. June and I had become friends through a mutual friend and we worked on the song together,"
"I don't wanna love you? That song?" He asked, for confirmation. He's heard that single over and over before, but he'd never expected an underlying meaning over it.
