Liam/Nilesy's POV
After the night of the fight, Freya withdrew inside her room and didn't come out. She never opened her door even for Kim, or so I was told. I haven't tried to talk to her yet. Then again, that's why I was here, outside of her door, my hand inches away from knocking. Knock, knock, knock. "Freya?" I called through the mahogany. Silence. "Freya, I know you're in there." I said, my voice a little louder this time. "Don't bother, Liam. She won't answer. I've tried for days." I turned around. "Hi Zoey." I said cheerfully. She shrugged in greeting. "Good luck, but I doubt she'll even reply." she said sadly, walking off down the hall. But I was determined. "Freya, don't ignore me, please." I pleaded. No answer. "Fine, I guess I'll sit here until you open the door." I said, sitting down and leaning against the door. The slab of wood behind me inched back a bit. I jumped, and got to my feet, my black hair falling in my face. Piercing green eyes stared at me through the crack between the door and the doorframe. "Hello Liam." Freya's voice was soft, almost melancholic. "Hey, Freya." I said, suddenly at a loss for words. Nothing was said for a moment, but then she opened the door wider. "You can come in....If you want to." she said quietly. I nodded, and entered her room. She sat on her bed, and stared at me. I closed the door quietly. "What do you want?" she asked. Her voice was different from what I remembered. It had a darker tone, and a softer volume. But it was sharp and melodic at the same time. "I wanted to make sure you were okay. You never come out nowadays." I said. She sighed. "No reason for me to." she said. It hurt to see her like this. "What changed, Freya? Why are you so upset?" I blurted. Freya's face turned bitter. "She took him." she said, her voice empty. Him? She had a boyfriend? That was new. "She took my best friend and I couldn't stop her." Freya started crying. So, maybe not a boyfriend. "We'll find him, okay?" I promised. Anything to make her happy. "But if you want to find him, you have to train. Okay?" I said hopefully. She looked at me, a steely resolve forming in her teary green eyes. Her lips formed a thin line. "Okay." she said, a hard determination in her voice instead of sadness. That was better. I knew I was falling for her, that much was obvious. So when I left Freya's room, I felt happy. Freya and I were going to find her friend. Together.
