3rd person POV
Freya waited for Liam to leave, before locking the door and going to her closet. She pulled back the wallpaper, revealing scraps of paper taped to the bare wall behind it. She looked at each one of them, her green eyes intense and focused. Some were drawings, hastily sketched vignettes of her dreams. Others were notes, scrawled with a drying pen, of things she'd heard in her mind. She sighed and put the wallpaper back. And she made a desicion. She picked out a basic black T-shirt and black yoga pants before leaving her closet and laying down on her bed. She closed her eyes, and let sleep take her mind.
Cody' POV
The world was spinning around me, and my arms screamed in pain from holding me up. My bare chest was bruised and battered, bloody gashes here and there. He heard voices, voices he'd never heard before. "God, Isa, can you be any louder?" a girl whispered sharply. He groaned in pain, his head throbbing. There was a sigh, and a different voice. "Echo, we've got to get him out of here....they're killing him." the other voice said softly. A sudden scent of vanilla and tea leaves filled his nose and he felt a slight pressure on the ropes that tied him to the ceiling. A light chuckle came from near his ear. "Silver....they always dust their ropes with silver." the voice murmured. The first girl snickered softly. "They never learn, do they?" Cody struggled to open his eyes, meeting the gaze of a tall girl with long black hair and silver eyes. A deep purple outlined her pupils. She smiled at him and he closed his eyes again. What would they do to him? Suddenly, the ropes around his wrists disappeared and he fell forward, unable to support his own weight. The girl with black hair caught him, and in the back of his mind, he wondered how she'd done it. The silver should've burned her hands, like they had been burning his wrists. "Echo, come help me with this..." the girl carrying him murmured. Light footsteps drifted towards him, and he felt someone take hold of his legs, holding him up. "What.....are you g-going to.....do to me" Cody croaked hoarsely. The other girl, Echo, he assumed, sighed. "We're getting you out of here, friend." she whispered. A sharp, yet melodic voice rang out. "How sweet. Who sent you two here to take my pet?" He felt the arms holding him above the ground stiffen as his mind started floating away. White Dragon. He heard one of the girls laugh coldly, and it sent shivers down his aching spine. But it brought his mind out of the heavy fuzz that Moira's voice always brings. "Hello, Moira. I am Isa. This is Echo. We sent ourselves, but we'll be leaving now." the girl who had cut his ropes said coolly. Isa. Isa and Echo. Hadn't he heard of them before? "No, you won't." Moira said sharply. He heard Echo yelp in pain, and the arms supporting his legs weakened. "Echo!" Isa cried out, her grip on Cody strengthening. Moira laughed. "A weak mind. I do enjoy those." she teased, her footsteps clicking closer. Isa sat him down on the cold floor and he heard the shrill sound of a sword being drawn. Suddenly, everything felt cold. Moira laughed again. "You silly girl, I have a whole pouch of silver dust in my pocket right now." he heard the light sound of fabric rustling and then Isa laughing. "You idiot woman." she said, her tone cold and angry, "I was going to leave you alive. But you hurt Echo." Cody shuddered. Isa was serious. He heard a whimper from Echo, stiffening as he heard her whisper. "I can teleport now...." Isa chuckled and sheathed her blade. "Another time, White Dragon." Her hand rested on Cody's shoulder and he felt sick, but suddenly the air was warmer and the floor was wooden instead of concrete. He felt two pairs of strong arms lift him up and lay him on a bed. "We'll let him sleep...." Isa's voice whispered. "Echo, go lay down....you need to rest." she continued softly. "I'm fine." Echo said, but her voice sounded weak. A sudden squeal forced his eyes open. Isa picked up a shorter, light haired girl. The girl, Echo, laughed, clinging to Isa. "Come on, princess. Let's get you to bed." Isa said, her smile obvious in her voice. Cody closed his eyes again, his body aching. He needed sleep. Isa's footsteps walked away, slightly heavier now that she was carrying Echo. A door clicked shut and Cody started to fall asleep. Freya....Where was she? Was she safe? And who were those two girls? Why had they saved him? He did know one thing. He needed sleep. His mind drifted away into sleep, and he felt safe for the first time in weeks.Well, that chapter took longer than expected. So sorry for my hiatus, I had some major writer's block. Next chapter as soon as I can!
