Chapter 4: Crafting A Book

Your POV

After having ourselves be tired throughout our sword fighting in this world, we decided to take a break for today. We went back home for a rest and through dinner. We went back to our room and lay on our bed. "I guess this is our first time feeling tired like this since you first know how to fight with a sword. That gives me wondering of how you manage to fight before you unleash your wind sword skills." She said to me. I questioned her response of how I awakened my sword ability in this world. This is my first time fighting with my sword skill attached somewhere inside of me. "You didn't know? Then when did you learn with wind sword arts before I met you?"

"I don't know. I just got here in the forest in a few days and then try everything I can to not get beaten up by some black wolves. I don't know how I managed to use this kind of sword skill that you just mentioned." I look at my hand, thinking it must be how some power transfers to the sword that I was holding. "You did have some power with your sword. How did you do that?" I ask her.

"Why not talk about it tomorrow since we're this tired. We don't want to be more tired if we overdo our working habits." Ena said. I do not know what she means, she tries to explain what tiredness means. It's a cause of fatigue if we don't get enough rest or sleep. This will lack our fighting ability or working habits if we don't take care of our health and consciousness. Let's not forget about focus as well. We need it for our thinking ability. "Come on, Y/n. Let's just sleep for now. I'll try to help you see how you can manage your memory."

"Thank you, Ena. You are a big help for a friend." I replied while we tend to sleep. "I just hope it turns out fine."

In the next day...

It's now morning...

We woke up while having breakfast. Having Ena task of the day, she is requested of needing mushrooms, sweet flowers, sugary flowers, the supply of meat, and wood for fire material. Since I need training in my swordsmanship, I decided to come with her. During the time that we set out, she plans to craft a diary for me with paper while forming a book. Then she needs to find the ink to write. Though, it will be difficult to find one. Note that there is a squid that contains ink, so we have no choice but to kill it.

During the request that we should find enough food supply for survival. Though, I am sad that I'm suffering from amnesia that is getting in my way of thinking. We are still in the middle of scavenging the food and materials before we went back into the village. I start chopping off unwanted trees while Ena starts taking fresh mushrooms and any flowers that can be ingredients for food. She did bring an ax for me so chopping the trees will be easy. "Is this really how I should start swinging first?" I ask her.

"You mean the ax? Yes, for chopping down wood." Ena replied. I still think about how I swing the sword but with a lack of combo string. "Are you still worried that you are still not remembering how you can use the sword?"

"Yeah, I wasn't ready," I admit that this is my first time having it in my hands. "Without fighting experience like that, I'll be dead already." I continue chopping down other trees.

"Is it because you suffered from amnesia?" Ena asks.

"I already have been if I think about it. I tried thinking through what I lost but I still can't remember." I replied. The memory recovery is still low and I couldn't get everything back to me. It's so depressing that I would end up losing my fighting ability next. She told me that she would find materials to craft a handmade diary with a tool to write so I won't forget. But finding a squid will be difficult to scavenge. It was found by the lake, rivers, or even the ocean, but the rarety can be hard for both of us.

Skipping Finding Material Events...

The first step is done with finding supplies and ingredients for our village. It's just enough, but more for a bonus. Now we just need to find paper wood or sugar canes to create a simple book. Just a village handmade book. It took a while to find the paper materials, but then we need ink. But where...?
