"2 Handbags... Brown & blue?"
"Check"

"Laptop Bag?"

"Check"

"Guru Granth Sahib?"

"Check"

"Charger? "

"Check"

"Reading glasses? "

"Check"

"Slippers... Sandals... Whatever you call them? "

"Check!"

"Kapde saare achhese rakh liye na? Ek bar aur dekhle? Tere dresses.. Night suits...?"

"Ha achhese rakhe hai maine sare kapde... "

This is me and my Mummy. Going through all things we've packed. Last minute check.
We'll leave for the airport in the next hour.

She was insisting me to take the refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, toaster, pressure cooker, pressing iron and what not along with me. To which I denied and it took me some days to convince her.

"Vaha tu akele mat nikal jana kahi bhi... Apna Amritsar nhi hai... Ke raat ko neend nhi aayi to nikale gaddi leke... Gedi shedi marne... Samjhi? Vadda sheher hai.... Hisab naal rahi...!" Mummy warned me for the nth time.

"Hanji Mumma! "

"Hun ainvayi kisi de naal vi number share na kari!! " here she goes again.

"Mumma... Apko mai itni stupid lagti hu?" I asked frowning slightly.

"Tu na bohot bholi hai puttar.... Tu dusro ka bhala chahti hai hamesha... Par sare log aise nhi hote... " She began to explain.

Its been 10 days, since they got to know about my plans of shifting to Mumbai.

Since then, Mummy has been teaching me how to wash clothes and how to cook, well I already knew the basics. She's happy that I'm happy about this job. But deep inside I know, she's scared for me. What if I land into some trouble or I get into some stupid things, like love and end up getting broken like Meeti.

I know she's just overthinking. But she's a mother. Moreover she's not really wrong, I've also met alot of mean people in my life.

As the days passed everybody was taking care of me. Surprisingly Shehbaz didn't even irritate me! Not for once did he fight with me or called me 'khotti'.

Also, I did my work as promised. I convinced Papa to let him go for a night out to Chandigarh with his friends.

Talking of Papa, he had always agreed to everything I said. He was silent than usual. Just like Mummy he was worried maybe.

"Chale puttar, time ho rha hai... " He entered my room. We're all set to leave.

Everybody's coimng to drop me to the airport, also Shefali. Only Papa will accompany me to Mumbai.

I've hugged Mummy tight, she's crying over my shoulder. I've decided not to shed even a drop. That would only make us weak in this moment.

"Bas Mumma! Mai zyada dur nhi jaa rahi... Aur vaise bhi flat milte hi mai aap logo ko bulane vali hu..." I kept talking to her to calm her down. The announcement will be made anytime. She needs to stop crying or I'm afraid I'll start crying too.

I guestured Papa to handle her. He came forward and held her shoulers.
I went to my little brother, who was also emotional but wasn't showing.

"Mummy Papa ka dhyan rakhna... Faltu tang mat karna... "
