"Are you sure you wanna do this, maybe you could take the day off? Or we could do a rain check? Or-"

"Jungeun! How many times do I have to tell you I'm fine. I'm doing the challenge today and nobody is stopping me" Jinsoul scolded, sitting at the edge of her bed and getting dressed. Jungeun hadn't left her side since yesterday night, even sleeping in the girls room just in case she needed comforting.

"Well then where are you going?" Jungeun questions.

"To meet Joohyun, she said she wanted to talk with me about something. Though, I'm pretty sure it's not a secret about what she's going to interrogate me about" Jinsoul sighs, putting on the last of her armoured uniform and standing up to face Jungeun.

"How do I look?" Jinsoul asks, turning around in a circle to make sure she didn't look like a hot mess.

"As beautiful as ever." Jungeun says softly.

Jinsoul felt her nerves rushing at a high point. She usually was never this nervous ever but having a conversation with Joohyun about this certain topic made things even worse somehow.

Jinsoul slowly made her way to the guest chambers and exhaled with ease. She slowly opened the large doors and made her way in. Both Yuna's and Joohyun's eyes followed the heir before she had sat down across from her step-mother.

There was a small silence for a while but soon Joohyun had cleared her throat and spoke. "I'm glad you came, Jinsoul. You're a lot stronger than I had estimated you to be"

Jinsoul didn't really know if that was a compliment and simply just nodded her head in agreement. "Now I know there's no good way to approach this so I am just going to say what i'm thinking....Why have you never told me about this?" Joohyun spoke and Jinsoul froze for a second.

"I- I was embarrassed. When you said Jeon's don't show weakness, as a Jung I thought I should follow too. B-but I'm not strong enough. I was wrong and I'm sorry" Jinsoul softly spoke with her head facing the floor.

Talking about her struggles out loud was a lot more challenging than she had ever imagined. It hurt so bad to talk, like her throat was closing up on her.

"Jinsoul, don't apologise. You're a lot stronger than you say you are."

"As we both know your father is...fairly sick, I will have a talk with him once we arrive back home after the competition." Joohyun sighs and Jinsoul slowly bows her head to thank the older ruler. It felt good to get things out but there was still one wish of hers.

"Other than that, is there anything you would like me to do? Any personal request? As you know I have power over almost every tribe, I can get you anything you desire" Jinsoul began to think about those questions and slowly a small idea came to her mind.

"Actually, yes, yes there is"

"I want you to stop being so hard on Heejin" Jinsoul spoke and Joohyun had gone rather silent.

"I know you just want the best from her but the verbal abuse you've put her through isn't working as well as you may think. It's driving her mad. And if you really want a personal request of mine, apologise to her, please." Jinsoul got up from her seat and left the chambers with her head up rather higher than it was when she had first entered.

She had just hoped nothing would deflate her ego today.

"Ladies, gentlemen, heirs, rulers and royalty, welcome to today's eighth challenge of our competition...Balance" Yena announced out towards the crowd as she was a replacement for Mark that day.
