Renata opened my curtains and I groaned.
“Wake up! A lady shouldn't be laid up in bed at this hour.”I looked at the clock near the elephant engraved wooden door.
“It's six thirty.”“Yes, when I was a girl we would wake up much earlier.”
“When was that in the nineteenth century?” I said in a whisper, before covering my head with the dark duvet.
She pulled the duvet away.
“HEY!” I said.“No, it was much earlier, remember I'm seven hundred and seventy.”
My camisole made me shiver as the air circulated from outside inside the room.
“You are so annoying. I only slept at two because of Aro.”
“Well, get ready. He wants to see you. He's health is not good after last night.”Who's health would be good after eating that inedible pizza?
“Serves him right.”
Honestly, why should I bother seeing him when he forced me to hang out with him, again!“Please, he insisted I bring you. Please.”
Her eyes were large. Her cloak was stained. Her eyes shadowed. When was the last time she had eaten? Or taken a bath. She smelled deathly. I frowned but relented.
“Fine, but on one condition.”
“Renata, what is taking Makayla long?”
I was changing in the bathroom into moccasin heels and a pink sweater of different shades with hearts.“Master, I'm sorry. She insisted on bathing and changing or she wouldn't see you.”
He sighed exasperatedly.
“If you thought I would just roll over for you, you're dead wrong. And worse still you made me get up and I haven't been sleeping.”
I complained. I had heard that they had great hearing. It was silent. Dead silent.
“Cat got your tongue, your highness.”
He growled in irritation. I thought I heard a shuffle next. A bang quaked the door over and over.“Make haste!” Aro shouted.
Immature much...was everyone sure he was almost four thousand?I dawdled out after casually sliding the door open. Aro still had his pink suit from earlier, but the tie,was crooked and a red stain was by the collar.
Was that...blood?
I shuddered and averted my eyes. Right I wasn't just dealing with a creepy, overbearing kidnapper. I was dealing with a creepy, overbearing vampire kidnapper! He could snap my neck or drink me dry if he got too tired of me. But the thought of Marcus' soft smile and acts of kindness strengthened my resolve.
I would fight him no matter what. I was not his.
“Fine I'm done anyway. Oh and bt dubs I ain't happy. Even fighting with Marcus was better than this....”
Aro grabbed me and I decked him, in the balls. The suckers took the impact. Aro's eyes bulged and his face contorted. Renata gave me a chastising look.
I left them behind.
“Where are you going? ” Aro anxiously asked.“I'm hungry.”
“Let me cook for you then,” he suggested. He walked with smaller strides so he would be right next to me.
“Renata told me you weren't well ...”
“Uh, yes the pizza I consumed.”
