It took a little bit of convincing, but you managed to have Damian stay home instead of going to work on a Friday. Which was exciting for you, but also for the girls too. Having your husband spend the day with you and your kids actually were nice as could be. The twins had started walking two days before you all met Bryson and Peyton, but they were still learning.
Damian and you were able to sleep in until nine, which was actually a rare occasion, until you heard Aaliyah whimpering. Her whimpering usually indicated that she was crying. She was the quiet crier while Jonalynn was more of the louder one. Jonalynn also had more of the attitude at times too. You opened your eyes and got up. "Cue Jonalynn yelling in one... two..."
"Dada! Dada! Mama! MAMA!" Jonalynn started shouting.
Damian sat up. "I can't imagine this on how you deal with this on some of the weekdays." He yawned.
You got up and went to the nursery. "You should hear her when she is really hungry." You said to him. "I got them." You began to walk to the bedroom door.
"I'm coming too." Damian said and followed you.
When you went to the nursery and opened the door. "Hi my two pretty girls. Guess who decided to stay home today." You said as Damian walked in behind you. Jonalynn had her little hands gripping the side of her crib and she started bouncing up and down in excitement. Aaliyah smiled brightly and slowly stood up in her crib.
"Dada" Jonalynn said and smiled. "Dada dada." She repeated.
"Hi sweetheart." Damian picked Jonalynn up. He went to pick up Aaliyah, but Aaliyah wanted you today. She was a mommy's girl for the day. "What you don't like me anymore?" Damian joked.
You picked up Aaliyah and rubbed her back. "I guess at least not at this hour." You teased. "She probably will after we get them breakfast." The two of you took the girls to the kitchen and picked out some soft baby food for the two.
To Damian it was amazing how fast the girls had started walking and talking. They still were picking up on a lot more words, but they were really good at walking. Hell, they would be walking right beside Bryson and their cousins when they were around. Aaliyah was more of the one who would follow while Jonalynn would would lead. However, if the two got into a little tussle it was always Aaliyah who would stand her ground. It was actually hilarious about how they were identical, but had different personalities. Jonalynn was more rebellious while Aaliyah was more of the shy one.
Damian sat down to feed Jonalynn in her highchair, while you did the same with Aaliyah. The two of you fed them and they were eating pretty good. Though now Aaliyah was looking over at Damian and just smiling away. She pointed to Damian and looked back at you with a grin, with those chubby cheeks.
"Dada." Aaliyah said.
"Yeah. That's dada." You confirmed to her.
Damian cocked an eyebrow with a smile on his face. "What is she doing?"
"She is excited that you are up this early and took a day off of work. She is used to seeing you in full suit and tie, then leaving for work." You explained. "So she is pointing out that you are home."
Damian looked at Aaliyah and smiled. "Yes today is my day off." He gave her a kiss, which Aaliyah returned, but then took some of her baby food and pushed some into Damian's face. Damian retracted his face and grunted. "Ugh. Great." He said all sarcastically.
You were laughing hysterically because the food even went up into his nose and he was complaining about it. He went into the kitchen to wash his face off and then used a tissue to blow his nose. The girls were laughing away too and you were starting to think Aaliyah did that to get revenge on her father not spending more mornings with you all. Damian came back wiping his face with a paper towel. "Better?" You asked.
