((There is going to be a dark side of this chapter. Pretty dark, but you know I usually make light of the situation.))
A cry could be heard from the baby monitor. Aaliyah was hungry and it was four in the morning. You sighed and began to sat up, until a strong arm blocked you.
"I will get her beloved. Sleep." He sat up and kissed your head when you laid back down. Then he went to the nursery.
You smiled and closed your eyes once more after the crying had stopped. You then heard your husband gently shushing Aaliyah and talking to her in a very quiet voice. He was too good.
Damian took both babies down to the kitchen and made them bottles. He kissed their heads as he warmed up the bottles. "Almost done." He said softly to them. Soon the bottles were ready and he checked the temps. After they were at a perfect temperature, he placed the babies in these little newborn bouncer seats that propped them up, and began to feed them their bottles. "There we go." He said with a smile.
Both girls were calm and they latched onto the bottles. They had your (H/C) hair, but Damian's green eyes and nose. Both of them made the tiniest and cutest grunts as they fed from the bottles.
"I bet that is a lot better." Damian said with a soft smirk on his face. A lot had been going through his head. Him having to fill the new Batman title. The fact his training would have to also increase, despite how many times people said he was good enough, and he would have to maintain being a family man too. This was going to be far from easy, very far. The weight of Gotham, his family, and many others would need to depend on them.
Just then Tim walked in and looked at his younger brother. "I know that face. You are feeling overwhelmed."
"I am not feeling like that Drake."
Tim shook his head and had a beer mug full of coffee. He also had a Red Bull in the other. "Please. I've known you since you were ten. I was also trained by the League for a while too. I can tell when you are lying."
Damian sighed and Tim took a seat. "You know you are going to kill yourself by drinking all that right?"
"Just get me a sponsorship by Starbucks, Red Bull, and Monster and I will die happily. Sell it at my funeral too." Tim said with a chuckle.
Damian gave a scowl.
"It's just for one night." Tim said rolling his eyes. "But you want to tell me what is making you feel overwhelmed?"
"Not really."
"Fine want me to tell you what you are worried about? Because I can read you like an open book."
Damian cocked an eyebrow.
"I can do it."
"Enlighten me."
Tim took a huge swig of his coffee, then swallowed. "Okay you are overwhelmed because you are going to step up and be the next Batman. You are worried about not only Gotham, but the whole world. However, you are most concerned about your family."
Damian was surprised, but impressed. Though he didn't answer at first. Then he looked back at his daughters. "Yes."
"That is perfectly normal, but I will tell you what is not normal."
Damian glanced up. "And what is that?"
"That you think you are going to helping the world just by yourself." Tim said. "Did you forget we are the whole Batfamily? Jason? Dick? Bruce? Alfred? Kate? Your wife? We also have a lot of friends that we consider family. Jim, Roy, Will, Lian, Artemis, and so many others." He took another swig of his coffee. "And you need to stop overwhelming yourself. If you are going to keep doing that, then I will go into Bruce's safe and get you some weed."
