Chapter Forty: Obsession

"Serena Dianne Villueva."

A name so often spoken in the household. From the open halls to the private rooms. The admiration the family members have for the girl never fails to be expressed everyday.

For an heir, such as Leviathon, it was such trash. His ears itched everytime he heard the revered name.

"Grabe. Namemorize na ni Serena ang unang parte ng commercial laws sa batang edad."

"Nako, nakabigay na nga siya ng abiso kay Devora sa negosyo nito."

"I heard she mastered basic english at five years old. Napakafluent niya na dito."

"Maganda din siya sa math. Pero mas magaling siya sa pagbabasa ng mga tao. Ewan ko ba, parang napakaperpektong bata."

"Siguro nga ay siya na ang magiging lider ng pamilya nito."

The ugly chuckles of the ladies irritated Levi. They kept on narrating verses of admiration towards the girl. Hindi niya mapigilan ang inis at galit na dumaloy sa katawan niya. How dare a lowly child get up and take what's his?

The first time Levi saw Serena was in the main halls. Kausap nito ang Kuya at may pangit na bulaklak sa buhok nito.

Levi frowned as he stared at the girl. Here was the proof as to why the girl was revered. A flawless skin compared to his scarred one. A beautiful pair of cerulean eyes, unlike his differently-colored ones. A red hair that bewitches almost everyone, contrary to his dull hair.

The child looked so bright and colorful, very different from his blank and ugly form. There was no mistake as to why she's rumored to become the next leader. She has the charms, talent and intelligence.

Levi knew then that he hated this girl.

She was all he wasn't. She was a star, and he's going to make sure she burns in her own light.

Parang may tumugon sa hiling niya nang magkita sila sa hardin. Levi only went there to get some fresh air. Hindi siya madalas nakakalabas dahil sa itsura niya. It's shameful for an heir to have scars and an odd eye color, especially that the Villuevas take pride in their blue eyes.

So Levi made sure he got Serena wrapped around his finger. He showed her things she was lacking. Napangisi siya nang makita ang mangha at respeto sa mata nito. He can't help but feel proud. That's right, he is the true heir of the main family. No child in the sidelines will ever sit in his throne.

"Levi! Hinahanap ka na ni Madame!" the dumb yaya loudly called.

"Coming!" sagot niya bago bumaling sa batang kausap. "See you again, Serena."

Levi glanced at the maid and towards Serena. Inosente lang ang mukha ng bata at walang kamuwang-muwang sa nangyari. Lihim na napangisi si Levi. Is this really the intelligent child everyone was gushing about? She can't even tell the differences of how he treated them.

His skin burned from when she mentioned his nickname. Levi hated hearing it being uttered from such an ugly mouth. It irritated the hell out of him, but more so, it disgusted him. Serena does not have any right to mention his name like that.
