TW: Needles, general inhumane things

A/N: I realized I forgot to say this before, all interactions are purely platonic. Also, this is kinda turning into a Wilbur and Niki angst, so... oops?

"Subject B-62934, report to the doorway to be escorted to The Doctor." The voice rang through the intercom. Sighing heavily, Niki stood up and walked to the entrance of the room. From there, she was grabbed roughly by the arm, and dragged unceremoniously to the laboratory.

"Lay down on the gurney." The "nurse" said bluntly, the cat complied. Her wrists and ankles were then buckled to the metal bars lining the bed, restraining her. Rough hands then checked her body, touching her tail and ears. She had to keep herself from scratching them as prodded her hurt ankle, which she sprained when they tested how high they could drop her from. Twitching slightly as they plunged a needle into her arm, they attached an IV tube, and left.

"The Doctor will be with you in a moment." Sucking in a breath, she waited. Niki wasn't sure how long she lay there, attached to the bed. But it felt like eternity.

Finally, someone walked in. "Ah, you must be Subject B-62934, I've heard a lot about you." he drawled. "I've heard you are quite feisty when it comes to complying." the hybrid didn't respond. "OK, well you must be wondering what you are doing here, yes?" The Doctor paused, scratching his ear. "Well if you aren't going to respond, then I will just tell you. You see, I am quite interested, in what would happen if you were, to put it bluntly, declawed." Niki tensed. "Would they grow back? Or would you simply never be the same again?"

No, no no no no no no no no. Her mind chanted. He can't do that, he won't do that, not now, not ever. No, no no no no no no no no no no no no no... Right? The Doctor must have seen the distress on her face, "Oh don't worry, you won't be awake for it," he chuckled, "but I do suppose it will hurt a bit after, won't it."

"Please, don't," she whispered.

"Oh! The quiet cat does speak!" he taunted.

"Please, why are you doing this." Niki begged, her voice breaking.

"Well, to put it simply, you are nothing, nothing compared to us. You are simply a monster in a human's world." The Doctor said with a dark chuckle. "Though, you are quite interesting nonetheless." He then injected what Niki could only assume was a sedative into the fluids bag.

The world around her grew staticky, her limbs got heavier and heavier. Niki's eyes fought to remain open as her mouth moved as she struggled to get one last sentence out.

"You're the only monster in this room."

TADA!!! See what I mean this accidentally turned into a Niki and Wilbur angst? I might change the title (a little tiny bit) to accommodate that. Have a nice day/night!!!
