It had been a couple hours since the incident, and the house was cloaked in uncomfortable silence. The tension was like a string pulled taut. The strain weighing down on them like a boulder. Phil felt that if he uttered a single word, the dam would break and emotions would be pouring out like a waterfall.

He wasn't quite sure what happened at the lake, why Niki had reacted like that. Obviously, cats don't like water. But she was laughing along with the rest of them until she fell in. She almost drowned. The eagle hybrid was pretty sure he was still processing that. The girl had fought to keep her head above the water as if her life depended on it. Like there was an otherworldly force pulling her down.

At that point Wilbur had panicked too. Whether it was because he was worried for his friend or because he knew why, Phil didn't know. Everything was a blur. One second everyone was smiling, joking around. The next she was hyperventilating in the water, about to sink.

After she had calmed down, they had walked inside. He, Wilbur, and Niki had separated to dry off while Techno watched Tommy. That led them to where they were now, sitting on the couch, staring awkwardly at various objects.

"Are we goin' to talk, or are we goin' to just continue to look into space?" Techno finally asked, breaking the silence.

Phil cleared his throat, "Uh, Tommy," the chicken hybrid looked up. "Can you give us the room?" Nodding, the boy shot up, leaving quickly, desperate to escape the tense stillness. Biting her lip nervously, Niki stared determinedly at the floor.

"Niki, mate." slowly, she met his gaze. "Are you OK?" She swallowed thickly, opening her mouth to answer, before stopping. Instead, the cat simply shrugged. "Niki, I want to help you, but I need to know how." Phil explained.

"Um," she started, glancing at Wilbur worriedly. He gave her an encouraging nod. "I-I don't like water." Niki stated lamely.

"OK." Phil noted, nodding.

"Um, I- I have some bad experiences with it. I- I almost drowned multi-multiple times." she elaborated.

"How many times?" the big hybrid asked bluntly.

"Techno!" Phil hissed.

"No, no it's alright. Um, a lot, I guess. I didn't really count." Wilbur did a series of motions, holding up various fingers. "Fiveish times." she answered. Phil frowned, the gesture was much more complicated for that simple number.

Deciding to drop it, the eagle hybrid continued, "What things trigger you? You don't have to tell me why, but, I don't want to accidentally set something off." Niki looked at Wilbur hesitantly, he shrugged. Glancing back, she began to list.

Tommy sat in his room, staring at the wall. He was beyond bored. He had been kicked out of the living room a couple minutes ago; and although he was desperate to escape that silence, he now was stuck in his own.

A sudden knock startled him out of his thoughts. Glancing at the window, a brown head of hair could be seen through the glass. Laughing lightly, he opened the screen.

"Tubbo! What are you doing here?" Tommy asked the bee hybrid.

"I was bored."

"So you broke into my house?!" he asked, incredulously.

"It's not breaking in! You helped me! If anything it's breaking in with help from the inside!"

"I don't think that's how it works."

"How would you know?"

"'Cause I'm smart, I've got brains, Tubbo, brains!"

"Sure, Big Man."

Edit: AHHHHHHHH!!! I FORGOT!!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY/NIGHT!!!!
