Niki woke slowly, her eyes flickering as she gained her bearings. Looking around, she stretched gently, her muscles tight from carrying Wilbur the day previous.

"Hey Niki," Phil greets. "How do you feel?"

Eyeing him warily, "Fine." she answers.

"OK." Phil responds awkwardly, "Uh, Wilbur is outside, if you want to join him, Um, we also have breakfast, um, if you want that." Nodding hesitantly, the cat hybrid makes her way towards the table. "Can I ask you something?"

Niki's heartbeat sped up, "Depends."

"Uh, what, um, what type of hybrid is Wilbur?" Phil said after an awkward pause, "You don't have to answer." He adds quickly.

The cat pondered for a second, is he trustworthy? He hasn't given us a reason to think he's not. "He's a siren."

"Huh." The eagle furrowed his brow, before shaking his head slightly. "Oh, are you still hungry?" he asked, finally noticing the now empty plate that sat before her. Yes.

"No."

"OK, mate. Wanna head outside?" Niki simply shrugged, she did, but she wasn't about to say that. Phil paused, considering his options, before moving towards the door. Niki hesitated for only a second, before following.

Wilbur swam through the water, propelling himself easily. Tommy was on the edge of the shore, cheering. Accelerating as much as possible, he leaped out of the lake, before smoothly diving back in. The chicken hybrid went nuts.

"THAT WAS AWESOME!!! HOW DID YOU DO THAT!? I WANT TO DO THAT!!" he yelled.

The siren simply shrugged, effortlessly treading water to keep himself afloat.

"Will!" Niki cried, now emerging from the house. He waved, and started to make his way over to the dock. "Hi." she greeted. He waved again. Gesturing at her, he mimed being in pain.

"I'll be fine, what about you?" Will was feeling better, the water had a cooling effect on his burns, relieving some of his pain. Flashing a thumbs up, he dove down a little, before propelling himself up and landing seamlessly on the dock.

Smiling lightly, she jumped back, "Will! I'm so wet now!"

Shrinking back sheepishly, he made a fist with his hand, rubbing it in circles on his chest. Collapsing dramatically, he dropped back into the water, disappearing in the murky depths.

"Oh Will, don't be sad." Niki's muffled voice yelled through the layers separating them. He didn't move. "Will, come back!" He didn't move. "Will! I'm not mad, come back!" He didn't move. "Awww, Willlll! Please?" Finally, the siren's head broke through the surface, subsequently splashing the cat.

Tommy, Techno, and Phil burst into laughter as Niki shook herself, trying desperately to get the liquid off.

"WILL!" the boy's body shook with silent giggles. Niki kicked water at him.
