"In the flesh baby, missed me?" Tons of thoughts flowed through her head. She hadn't seen Kareem in almost 6 years. His hair grew out , he put on weight, and he was much taller, pushing a good 6'2.
"When... when did you get out?" She questioned still very confused. She remembered him going in on a murder charge at just 16. Her once.. lover. She was also confused on how he found her shop.
"3 months ago. I been getting on my feet and shit. Got back in the swing of things , got me a spot not to far from here, how you been? Ain't heard from you since I got jammed"
"I've been alright.. just been trying to grow my business."
"Word. You always said you was gone open up a salon , I hate I ain't get to help you make it happen"
"Yeah.." Awkward silence fell in between the two due to them not knowing what to say to each other.
"I'm sorry for you know putting you through all that shit.. I was young and naive"
"It's fine Kareem , i've gotten over that a long time ago."
"I missed you—" He was cut off by her phone ringing. She reached in her pocket and answered the facetime call
"When you coming home ma? Lai tryna watch that Brave movie and shit"
Kareem raised his eyebrow at her , he didn't expect her to be in a relationship. He thought he was going to get out and possibly mend the bond he had with his lady. And it sounded like the male on the other line mentioned a child , who he thought could be his.

"I'll be home soon Vivi. Make sure she don't fall asleep on me"
"Aii. And you cooking or me? Cause when you get here i gotta handle some shit at the warehouse , ion wanna leave on a empty stomach"
"I'll cook. Take those chicken wings out the freezer and defrost them for me."

"Yeppp" she said with a tight lip smile
"He treating you right?"
"He is. We've had our ups and downs of course, but for the most part i'm happy"
"That's good ma.. I guess I should get going. Mind if i get your number?"
She hesitated at first but she gave in , what harm could possibly be done. She typed her number in his phone and saved it as her name.

She watched him leave out the door and walk out to his car. she immediately went to the groupchat and called up Crystal and Nuni. After a few rings both of them answered
