"I'm so sorry," Iris said, trying to move away from the person whom she loved dearly but the touch of a smooth palm on her cheek stilled her. She opened her eyes and faced the person with whom she shared an intimate moment just a moment ago. Brooke was looking at Iris straight in the eyes with no disgust reflecting on it, unlike what Iris expected to see. Instead, she was looking at her with love and admiration. Iris' heart was beating so fast; she was so nervous. She felt sick like she was about to vomit everything she drank and swallowed within the day. Her nerves had gone haywire and it felt like she was going to self-destruct at any given moment. "What could this possibly mean? Why is she giving me that look," she asked herself. Her face was painted in confusion, eyebrows furrowed. She didn't understand what was happening and yet she was still there with her palms sweaty and shaking.

"Hey, it's okay. You did nothing wrong, so don't say sorry," Brooke told Iris so softly, afraid that she might run away from her. She took Iris' cold hand and enveloped it in her warm one. Brooke rubbed the pad of her thumb on Iris's cheek gently and stared at her twinkling dark brown eyes. "I've been waiting for this moment too," she added and she initiated another kiss. Iris could not believe what she just heard. A smile played on her lips as they indulged themselves in the presence of each other. They were finally having the moment they had both been waiting for so long. Their kiss was like the meeting of two long-lost lovers, separated by unfortunate circumstances and a loss of different opportunities. Fireworks were exploding everywhere. Their hands moved along each other's body as if memorizing every nook and cranny, leaving a hot fiery trail. Their kiss started slow and sensual at first but it quickly grew more passionate and fervent. Their breathing was short and ragged, oxygen running out of their lungs but not wanting to separate from one another. It was like they couldn't get enough of each other; they needed more, to feel and to touch. To be one and to never be separated. They were desperately clawing at each other's clothes, removing the article of clothing one by one. As their kisses grew sloppy, they fell back to the bed and relished the best night they will never forget.

Iris woke up around the small hours of the morning. She found herself tangled in long limbs and the warm bed sheet that did not separate her from the beauty laying beside her. She smiled while looking at her. Her shiny jet black hair was sprawled in the pillow beside her and soft snores came out of her dainty lips. She was adorable, Iris said to herself. How blessed was she to have her. She stroked Brooke's hair and the silky strands ran through her fingers. She laid beside her, mesmerized by her whole being, watching the slow rise and fall of her bosom. Iris noticed every detail of her lovely Brooke, how she would mumble incoherent words in her sleep or how she would occasionally smile as if dreaming something good. She had something good, Iris thought and her expression quickly turned serious. She tenderly kissed Brooke's forehead and got out of bed, feeling the need to get a glass of water. Iris got out a glass and filled it with water, drinking it slowly.

As she was sipping on the refreshingly cool water, she thought about Brooke. She thought about how she was perfectly imperfect and Iris smiled at that but there was something bothering her, a thought nagging her at the back of her mind. These thoughts never left her, pestering her, wanting to be acknowledged. It was a constant itch that seemingly did not want to go away and so, Iris paid heed to them. She smiled as though this wonderful idea of hers would bring happiness. She prayed it would bring something good, for both Iris and Brooke. The sad smile of hers shone. Iris was excited to present this new idea to Brooke but she was nervous thinking that Brooke may not be as delighted by the idea. Nonetheless, she went up the stairs and slowly crept up the stairs, not wanting Brooke up to wake up. It would have ruined the surprise.
