A PNG is basically an image of a person, object, or design with no background. Think of it like a sticker - clean, cut out, and easy to layer over anything. PNGs are essential for graphics, edits, and even cover design.
Not every PNG will come ready-made - especially if the person or object isn't super well-known. So sometimes, you'll need to make your own, especially when you have a specific picture in mind. 👍🏼

📝 TIP: Be careful of fake PNGs that look transparent but aren't! If you see a gray checkerboard background, don't trust it unless you test it first. These often save with a white background instead - not transparent.
OPTION 2: PNG PACKS (THEMED!) These are super helpful when working with a specific theme or multiple images (like a moodboard). Use:

✨ Step-by-Step: Making Your Own PNG Pick your image - ideally with a simple background (faster to edit). Import the image into Photolayers Crop close to the subject
Use: Auto: to erase large, solid areas (like all white or all black) Manual: to fine-tune and erase carefully around edges Repair: to fix accidental cuts Zoom: always zoom in to get cleaner lines
Click the checkerboard square to view your cutout against white - this helps you spot any leftover bits.
When finished: Tap Done Tap Save Be sure to select PNG transparent not JPEG!
✅ Done! You now have your own PNG ready to use in edits, covers, or collages.
Final Tip 🪄
Don't get discouraged if your first PNG isn't perfect. The more you practice, the better you get - and a well-done PNG makes a huge difference in the overall quality of your work.
