24 September 1974

Natasha sat, staring at a page while the lines swam. It was the third week of the fourth year now, yet she was ready for the end of the year. Her eyes were watering, from tiredness and well, a deep feeling of loneliness. She wasn't truly lonely, she had Marlene, she had her brothers, she had the boys, she had her friends, she had her parents write her letters each day. She still felt completely alone, and she was angry. She didn't know why, nothing extreme had happened. Her hands were shaky, her brain was crowded, her ears were ringing, her eyes burned, she couldn't concentrate on anything. Professor McGonagall had a word, Madam Pomfrey checked on her, Professor Slughorn had, most teachers had by now. She wasn't trying to fail, she really was trying.

"Miss McKinnon," McGonagall broke her daze, "Do you care to answer my question? Or shall we leave young Mr. Black waiting?"

"Sirius?"

"Are you blind or are you testing my last nerve young lady?"

Natasha looked around, and saw the other 'Mr. Black' standing there looking at her. Regulus Black, Sirius' younger brother. They were quite similar in posture, and facial expressions and features but Regulus was more lean, more distinguished. He was obviously quite smug in the way of his name, yet his eyes wanted to escape. His mind was there, but not truly.

Professor McGonagall went on, "Considering your new lack of attention, I believe you need a tutor."

She scanned the class, obviously doubtful of everyone in there.

"I'll do it."

Natasha looked up, and saw Regulus looking straight at McGonagall, just finishing talking. She looked just as shaken as Natasha looked, as he went on to say, "Only if she felt comfortable, of course. I mean, the other day, you said I was three years ahead, if I am not mistaken. And surely-"

"Mr. Black, if you truly believe you have the skill to teach Natasha what I cannot, be my guest. Tonight, in the library, at six. Do not dare miss it, McKinnon."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world, Professor."

"Now turn to page 13, all of you." She began," Oh, and Black, tell Slughorn to send me an owl."
