The countryside rolled by our car as we continued to make our way to the cabin in the country. To say I was excited was an understatement. Not just because I was excited to finally ravish my husband, but to see even more of the country. Growing up I never got to see a lot of the countryside, but heard it was beautiful. And when I arrived back at Gravensnod when Louise was sick, I stayed at the castle. Even now, I hadn't ventured far out into the country since being here.
My nose was practically pressed up against the window as Alexei expertly navigated the roads. Of course there were security guards following us and they'd be surrounding the cabin, but they'd give us privacy. We were planning on spending an entire week in the cabin, just the two of us. That made me more excited.
Digging myself away from the window, I glanced over at Alexei who smiled at me. He was then picking up my left hand and kissing my ring, something he'd done a lot since we got married yesterday. It was something that always made butterflies swarm in my stomach. Even just thinking about being with him was making me nervous. We'd only slept together once, and that was a long time ago. I hadn't been with anyone else and was afraid I still wouldn't really know what to do. But, he made me feel so comfortable and safe. It was just crazy to think about how far both of us have come since then.
"Just a few minutes away," he said while turning down a long road.
When he was pulling into a driveway, my mouth fell open when the cabin came into view. "Whoa, this is it?"
He softly laughed while pulling up to the cabin and parking. "This is it."
"Wow," I said while getting out and looking up at the beautiful cabin. "This is gorgeous."
His arms were then wrapping around me before giving me long kiss. "You're gorgeous."
I knew my face was heating up as I kissed him again. "You're pretty gorgeous yourself."
We grabbed the few bags we had in the trunk before walking up to the front door. After he unlocked it he suddenly dropped the bags and turned towards me. "What?" I laughed as he came closer.
"I need to carry my husband across the threshold."
"Oh my god," I laughed as he easily lifted me up into his arms, my arms wrapping around his neck.
I couldn't stop laughing as he walked inside, flipping lights on as he went. He continued to carry me towards the kitchen where I saw a bottle of champagne and lots of chocolates. "Oh wow," I said while looking around. "This place is so pretty."
"It is," he said while kissing my cheek. He then gently put me down, his hands slowly running up and down my arms. "Let me get the rest of the bags, be right back."
After he started walking towards the front door again, I wandered into the living room and stared in awe. There were massive glass windows overlooking the countryside, looking so peaceful and quiet. Quickly walking back into the kitchen, I poured two glasses of champagne before walking up the stairs, bringing the chocolates too.
"Wow," I said while staring at the tall ceilings and homey atmosphere. Once walking into a bedroom my stomach started doing flip flops when I saw the bed. I put the chocolates and one glass down, taking mine over to the window and taking many gulps.
I could hear Alexei's footsteps coming up the steps before coming into the bedroom. "Isn't this view amazing?" He asked while standing behind me. His long arms were wrapping around my stomach, his lips leaving soft kisses along my jaw.
