Chapter Seven

Ari

My hands ran over the royal garb I was put into, looking at myself from every angle in the mirror. I wouldn't be as dressed up as Alexei and Philo on the coronation day, but I still had to be dressed to the nines. It was only two weeks away and literally the entire country was buzzing with excitement. When Alexei's dad came out and addressed the people, they were of course sad and upset. But it helps that literally everyone loves Alexei and Philo, so they weren't worried about the transition of power.

          It'd been so long that I've actually been in royal attire I forgot what I looked like in it. The coat I wore was a long one, the back end covering my ass. The color was actually a really pretty deep purple with big gold buttons and other royal badges all over. The collar practically came up to my ears so basically my entire skin was covered but at least this color looked good on me. Jess was currently taking notes on my pants, which she had to let out a little. Apparently my ass had gotten bigger since the last time I wore these purple pants. She was a master at this though and wasn't worried about getting it done in time. She had been pretty busy working on Alexei and Philo's outfits for the big day. 

          "Okay Ari," she said with a smile. "You're all set, I'll have this ready by next week. You can just leave it on that chair when you're done changing and I'll come grab it later. I need to run to the mainland to grab some supplies."

          "Thanks Jess, I appreciate it."

          When she left I looked at myself again before fidgeting with the beautiful buttons. A sudden wolf whistle was making me jerk my head up to see Fyn leaning in the doorway with his hands in his pockets. I smiled while turning around while he said, "Damn. Look at you."

          I started fidgeting with the buttons again as he started to walk towards me. Since I was standing on a pedestal I was taller than him as his arms wrapped around my waist. "Do I look okay?"

          "Way more than okay Ari," he said as his eyes slowly roamed over my body. "You look phenomenal."

          "Thank you. Jess has to let my pants out a little, my ass apparently got bigger."

          His eyebrows rose as his hands slid to my ass, instantly making me laugh. "I couldn't possibly love you more." My arms linked around his neck as I opened my mouth to respond, before realizing he was dressed casually. Normally he'd be in his guard getup but he was wearing a nice sweater and a pair of jeans.

          "Are you not working today? I thought you were dressed differently this morning."

          "I worked a little with Alexei this morning but I asked for the afternoon off. I know I've been working a lot recently and I wanted to spend some time with you before things pick up more."

          That made me lean down to kiss him, his strong arms pulling me closer. "You're so sweet. Let me change really fast."

          "You need any help with that?"

          I laughed again as he helped me step down off the pedestal. "We both know how that'll end. Give me just a few seconds."

          With that I went into a changing room and quickly got out of the outfit, careful not to rip anything. Once I was back into my comfy clothes I met back up with Fyn, who instantly took my hand. He softly kissed the back of my palm before pulling me out of the room.

          "Is there anything specific you want to do on your rare afternoon off? And Alexei was fine with that?"

          "Oh yeah, he was good. Him and Philo are in and out of meetings all day and Augustus is watching the kids. I figured you could use a pretty chill afternoon in the countryside."
