Chapter 27 : Cold Days

Y/N POV

You were finished with patrol already. You were just sitting on the porch waiting for Dream to come out. Since you can't go underground you had to wait outside. You kept rubbing your arms to form heat. You were getting a little cold. You didn't know why but you did. You were still really tired and end up falling asleep time to time on the porch but wake up immediately when you hit your head on the wooden fence you were leaning on.

You sighed. What was Dream doing for him to take so long. You stood up and went to door. As you were about open it, it opened revealing a masked man.

"What took you so long?" You asked groggily.

"Have a little patience will ya? My mask fell in a hole in my room, I had trouble getting it" He explained. Says the guy who can't even be patient with you. you rolled your eyes. You felt like he was lying but shrugged it off. Knowing Dream he tends to keep secrets.

Little did you know that he was lying and is planning something you will not like.

You began to walk on the wooden path. You were following him from behind. You tried not to yawn from time to time but obviously failed. It was hard because you only had a 2 hour sleep and now your going on a incredibly long walk. Look on the bright side, you got to explore the SMP which was great I guess.

You saw that L'manberg had recruited new members. You smiled that they have recovered so well. You even met them. There names were Nichachu or Niki and Jack Manifold. You haven't had the time to get to know them better because Dream being his impatient self dragged you out of that conversation and continued you oh so called 'journey'.

"Where are we going anyway? we've been walking for an hour now." You complained. You were not that tired but you were definitely to lazy to walk and you've been getting colder the longer you walked.

"Don't worry we're minutes away from our destination." He assured. You sighed. You were bored and cold. You felt like you were losing heat and you were getting weak. You opened your inventory and took the book you snatched from the library when the librarian wasn't looking.

The same book o how you found out what the mark was and how to 'survive' it. You tried your best to cover it with the manual that George gave you so Dream wouldn't suspect anything.

You read the first thing that was connected to you being cold.

'The Cold Stage of Embers'

This stage is best to avoid due to it being one of the reasons of death.

This stage is where you feel cold and weak. This happens because you are near a snowy or cold weather. This tends to keep you from being able to make yourself more warm using your charm. You can avoid this by staying near heat and fire.

A charm is what the power of heat is called. its hard for one to use it without enough rest or sleep so avoid cold areas or biomes if you want to keep one of your lives.

What happens is you don't freeze to death but you would feel spikes under your feet. The spikes that form under your feet are crystals called snowdrops. Don't be fooled by the beautiful name and crystal because this crystal starts small but eventually grows bigger until it has full grasp f you and crushes your whole body ending one of your lives.

I'm not even near a cold biome and its the middle of June! You were about to close the book when a white flake was seen on the pages and another one and another one. You look up. It was snowing. You felt like you immediately went pale all of a sudden. You look down when you felt something under your feet.

You stop also causing Dream to stop and turn to you. You look under your feet. You were stepping on snow. Little glass crystal were forming underneath. Your eyes widen. You were already in a winter biome. Shit.

"You ok?" Dream asked a hint of concern on his voice.

You look back to see a trail of little crystals on the ground. You hoped Dream wouldn't see them but of course. You were wrong.

"Why-What is that?" He asked taking a closer look of the crystal you had made. You immediately pulled him away from getting any closer.

"That's a rock Dream." You said making it sound confusing. He held your face causing you to heat up and push him away but instantly regret it when you felt it was warm.

"Are you okay? You seem pale." He asked. You had run out of ideas to explain why you were pale. This was one of the life and death situations that you weren't expecting.

"Y/n what is going on with you?" You felt your body go weak making fall on the ground. Luckily Dream caught you.

"Woah! What-y/n..." He said in concerned voice. Why does he care? I'm only his prisoner.

You felt weak. This time you didn't feel heat in your eyes but ice. You felt that they were glowing because of ice. You look at Dream. You saw his eyes widen in shock through the holes in his mask.. You knew this was going to happen sooner or later but you didn't expect it will be this soon.

"D-dream... I-its cold." You stammered. You felt weak and you hated it. Especially in front of him. Your vision was getting foggy.

"What-what is going on Y/n? Shit your cold as ice!" He says as he picked me up in bridal style. You hesitantly wrap your hands around his neck and bury your face on his shoulder. It was getting a little warmer.

You felt your eyes warm up again but your vision was still blurry so you closed your eyes shut. You felt tired so can't use your charm. You felt the lids of your eyes get heavy. The next thing you knew you already drifted of to sleep.

Just like every being, you also have a weakness but you were half-human causing the crystals to be smaller that it usually is. The Enderman is afraid of water and The Ember is afraid of ice. Be careful...Fire and Ice don't go good together and each can cause destruction...
