I looked at the mirror nervously. I was wearing a black toga and a black boxy hat.
Today is our graduation day and I know that I should be happy but I'm actually scared.
Just thinking about the person who's gonna hang my medal, hug me and be proud of me. My mom can't attend for obvious reasons, maybe I'll just let the teachers do it.
"You ready, George?" I heard Clay from the other side of the room, I nodded.
Side by side, we went to Clay's car because he insisted that we'd use his car for today. I sat on the passenger seat bouncing my leg hastily.
Clay looked at me for a second and I responded with a gentle smile and he started driving. I looked out at the window looking at the palm trees sway as we passed by.
Before I even know it, we're now at the school. I saw Sapnap at the school gate talking to someone. The boy has a brown hair and hazel eyes, he's ask shorter than Sapnap. I looked at Sapnap and he was so happy. I don't know why but I'm happy for him too for I noticed that there's some type of tension between them.
Clay parked the car and we both got out. I walked towards him as he slowed his walking pace. I smiled at him.
"You excited?" I asked him, trying to fake a smile.
"Yeah! I'm gonna call mom for a second" We stopped and he called his mother.
"Hey mom! Where are you?" He said on the phone happily, and I smiled at him.
"Oh okay! Bye love you!" He said.
"They're at the school stadium already" he grabbed my hand and we ran towards the stadium.
We stopped at the middle of the stadium, trying to catch our breath then Clay ran again, leaving me hyperventilating. I was guessing that he found his mom so I didn't stop him.
I got my air back and looked to where Clay went. I saw him hugging his mom and dad.
I just watched them from afar trying to not interrupt their family talk. I looked for a seat and sat down putting my hat on the chair beside me as sign of reservation.
I looked back at Clay again. I was happy that he's happy. I admired him as he hugged him mom and dad. His eyes squint a bit and crinkles as he widely smile. To be honest my happiness is other peoples happiness, I don't know why but that's just me.
I wish my mother could come right now. Do y'all know how it feels to not have a mom or dad in your graduation? Well I know. It feels like you're left out from the students and that you shouldn't be there because no one will still be proud of me. Yes, I am the valedictorian but no one was there to support me.
I was snapped out of my day dream as i felt someone tapping my shoulders. I turned to look and saw Sapnap smiling brightly at me.
"Dude! Congrats! I'm so happy for you!" He congratulated. It's like he saw me and read what I was just thinking.
"Thank you, Sapnap. Congratulations to you too!" I responded, smiling.
"So, who's that?" I pointed at the brunette boy standing behind him.
He blushed "oh! U-uhm" his eyes trailed to the boy. "This is karl!" He introduced me to the boy.
"Hey karl!" I handed out my hand and karl took it and shaked it once.
I felt arms snaked behind me as I let out a small yelp.
"Clay stop that!" I scolded, lightly slapping his chest.
"So, George we're gonna head out now" Sapnap said and left and i gave him a wink, trying to tease him.
"My parents wants to meet you" Clay said and pointed at them. I said 'okay' and we started to walk towards them.
