Just so everyone knows I'm writing a story loosely based off this one instead of continueing it. Alcohol and Cigarettes.

Oh my god. I'm so sorry for such a long wait!

Chapter 19 A not-date:

I tried to contemplate what a day spent with Edward would be like.

He's boring so...

"Do you like books?" He questioned as I picked at the blueberry bagel in my hands.

I was standing by the island and he was leaning over it, a few feet from me.

"Please, Edward, don't tell me our day is going to be you reading me Edgar Allen Poe or worse, the bible." My voice was serious but there was some sarcasm in there.

"Well that sounds interesting to me but no. I know you like to do more...active things."

I smiled. "So what are we going to do?"

"Anything that doesn't involve drinking, drugs or anything illegal." He stated.

"That's all the fun things." I pouted.

"I don't even want to here the word alcohol today."

"You just said it." I pointed out.

"Besides then. I also don't want to see it, especially near you."

I threw the almost whole bagel in the trash.

"Not hungry?" Edward inquired.

"Just not for that."

"How about we go to lunch?" His eyes drifted to the clock. "Or dinner."

"Okay." I agreed.

"You should go get ready, you take forever."

"Do not."

He shrugged. "Kind of."

I walked past him, heading out of the room.

"Oh," He said, making me turn back around and look at him.

"Wear a dress. No dark colors though."

"Why no dark colors?" I asked.

"I want to see you in something besides black and red."

"You wear black all the time." I retorted.

He smirked. "I look good in it."

"Are you saying I don't?"

"No, I'm saying I want to see if you look even more beautiful in other colors."

I stared at him blankly for a few moments as he just smirked before I turned and continued on my way to my room.

After my shower I dressed a creamy white vintage-inspired dress.

The top was a corset-looking type constructed mainly of lace and flowing from that were layers of light, somewhat sheer, off-white fabric reaching a few inches above my knees.

I had on white lace tights and rings covered my slender fingers.

I glanced out my window at the now dark sky as I put on makeup; just mascara and a peach blush.

I put my soft black hair up in a high ponytail, the ends of my long wavy hair falling just past my shoulders as it sat snuggly in a white flower holder high atop my head.

I left the bathroom after spraying on some nice perfume and went get shoes.

I debated on what to get and finally decided just to wear my beat-up, black combat boots because that's what I was most comfortable in.

Just as I got done pulling them on over my lace-covered ankles I heard a knock on my door.

I pulled open the wooden exterior separating my room from the hallway and saw Edward standing there.

His dark eyes grazed over me, slowly examining my body until his eyes met mine again.

He smiled at me. "I'm....speechless. You look stunning, as usual. I kind of expected the boots, nice touch. Though they don't really match."

"I think they do." I grinned.

"Of course. Shall we get going?"

I nodded.

He took my hand in his and I felt my cheeks heat up and I hated it.

Edward was dressed in the usual black pants that fit snuggly at the ankles, a black button-up shirt and black shoes.

Yeah and I had to stay away from dark colors.

Though he does look very good in black...

I bit my lip, my eyes on him.

We were almost to the door when Jason came into the hallway with the front door, Jeremy just behind him.

Edward and I stopped; I saw Jason's eyes examining our linked hands.

"Where are you two running off to?" Jason questioned in a suspicious tone.

"Yeah," Jeremy added.

"Dinner." Edward answered casually.

"A date?" Jason's voice had a hint of surprise.

"No." I replied just as Edward said; "Yes."

We looked at each other for a moment before I tore my eyes away, avoiding his gaze.

"Um," Jason cleared his throat. "Well, then, have fun on your...not date or whatever it is."

"Thank you." Edward said. "And it is a date."

I could tell everyone was looking at me, expecting a comment but I stayed quiet for once.

"Oh!" Jeremy exclaimed, all of us turning our attention to him.

"Jason, give them our present." He urged.

"Oh, right." Jason reached into the back pocket of his blue jeans and pulled out a black cardboard box.

He handed it to Edward.

I heard Edward laugh softly, his eyes on the thing in his hand.

"What is it?" I inquired.

Edward handed it to me, a small smile on his face.

I took it; it was a box of condoms.

I sighed. "Very funny, guys."

"I just want you to be safe." Jason exclaimed as Jeremy snickered to himself.

Edward took the box of condoms back, putting them in his pocket.

Jason and Jeremy high-fived each other, laughing.

"Edward, can we go now?" I prompted.

"Sure," He smiled.

"See you guys later." Jason said. "Or, ya know, tomorrow morning."

Edward and I left the house, leaving the two idiots with their jokes and laughter.
