Chapter 9 She had enough and He's had plenty:
I sat beside Edward in the backseat of the car.
I was practically bouncing in my seat.
"Jason could you drive any slower?" I said.
"Sorry I'm not going as fast as you would like me too, I kind of don't want to wreck and die." He said.
Edward was sulking.
"Stop it Edward, your ruining my good mood." I said.
He looked at me, "Why are you in a good mood? Because you're getting alcohol?"
Yes.
"Why is that so bad?" I asked.
"Because your whole world revolves around alcohol, that's not healthy." He said.
"It does not." I said.
"Yes it does."
I crossed my arms and leaned back against the seat.
"Edward?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
Wow he was really annoyed for once.
"How long are you staying here?"
"I don't know, why?"
"Just wondering." I said.
I looked over at him and he was looking out the window.
Well more like glaring at the window.
It was weird seeing him this upset he was usually so calm.
I shrugged it off.
We arrived at the club a little while later.
We walked in and my eyes were immediately fixed on the bar.
Maybe Edward's right; maybe I do have a problem...no.
I started walking towards the bar.
Surprisingly Edward didn't follow me.
Maybe he gave up.
Suddenly he appeared beside me.
"Jason is extremely infuriating to talk too." Edward said.
"Yeah he's immature." I said.
"And oblivious." He added.
I looked at Edward and his expression was annoyed.
I reached the bar and ordered a drink.
"What's wrong Edward?" I asked while waiting for my drink.
"Do you really have to ask?"
"I don't see why you care so much about what I do."
"Trinity, have you ever been in love?" He asked.
"No."
"Well then I can't explain it." He said.
"What are you saying Edward?"
"I'm saying that I-"
"Hey Tre'." Jeremy said standing beside me.
"Hey, where's Jason?" I asked.
"Over there talking to some girl." He said.
"Oooh,"
"Let me see." He said gesturing to the fake ID I was holding in my hands.
I handed it to him.
"Nice, much better than the one I had when I was your age." He said handing it back to me.
Edward was shaking his head.
Jeremy got a drink and disappeared into the crowd.
"Ridicules, why are they condoning this?" Edward said.
"Because they don't see what the big deal is, unlike someone who likes to overreact." I said.
"You're impossible." He said.
I got my drink and took a sip of it.
"Don't make a scene Edward." I said.
"You're not having another one, you said 1."
"I know what I said." I responded
He sighed.
"So why don't you drink?" I asked.
"I don't see the need." He said.
"Why don't you eat?"
"I don't see the need for that either."
"You don't see the need to stay alive?"
He laughed.
"Don't answer me then." I said.
I finished the drink and set it down.
"That was quick." He said.
"I was thirsty."
"Sure."
I ordered another one.
"You said 1." Edward said.
"I lied."
I got me next drink and drank it a little faster this time.
"That's enough." Edward said.
"I'll say when enough is enough."
"No, I'll say."
"Edward you're not my father, just relax."
I ordered another drink and looked at a very unhappy Edward.
"Where is your father?" He asked.
"Dead." I said bluntly.
"What about your mother?"
"Also dead."
He nodded, "Now I know why drink."
"I don't drink because of that; I drink because I like it."
I finished my third drink.
"Don't even think about getting another one; I will make a scene."
I rolled my eyes.
"Edward why don't you go find another girl to talk too." I suggested.
"Why? So you can get another drink, I don't think so." He said.
"No I'm serious you need to have some fun Edward stop being so mature."
"Oh yeah cause being mature is a bad thing."
"It can be."
"Can you do me favor?" I asked.
"Anything," He replied.
"Can you go find Jeremy for me?"
"Why?"
"I wanna ask him something."
"Ask him what?"
"A question."
"What question?"
"Just go get him." I said.
He disappeared in to the crowd.
I ordered another drink and quickly drank it.
I saw Edward coming back and I threw the glass at the guy behind the bar.
He caught it; barely.
"I don't see him anywhere." Edward said.
"That's okay." I said.
"What did you want to ask him?"
"I don't remember." I said.
He gave me a confused look.
"Why don't we get away from the bar?" Edward asked.
"I like it here." I said.
"I know you do."
