Chapter 4 I'm ok, I'm not ok:

I sat there, puzzled.

Why did he push me away?

He's the one who kissed me last night. I felt tears stinging my eyes but I shook it off.

I lay down and closed my eyes.

I woke up a to a massive headache, I groaned.

''Are you okay?'' I heard a voice say. I opened my eyes and saw Edward sitting at the bottom of my bed. ''What are you doing in here?'' I asked him. ''I was worried, it's after 4.'' He said. I looked at the clock and sure enough it was 4:17 pm. Jason and Jeremy should be here any minute.

''You didn't answer my question.'' He said. ''What?'' I asked. ''Are you okay?''

''Oh, yeah I'm fine.'' I said.

''Are you sure?'' He asked.

''Yes.'' I sat up and looked at my hands. ''Is something wrong?'' Edward asked.

I looked at him, ''No, why do you ask?''

''You just seem upset.'' I looked back down.

''Uh, I'm gonna get a shower.'' I said getting out of bed.

I walked to the bathroom and closed the door. I took a hot shower staying in there longer than necessary. After the hot water started to run out I shut off the water and got out.

I wrapped a towel around myself and stepped out of the bathroom, Edward was gone.

I walked to the closet and got dressed in ripped black skinny jeans and a loose silk red tank top. My headache had only gotten worse. I walked down to the kitchen and sat on the counter. I stared at the empty bottle of wine lying in the sink.

I sighed. I felt like an idiot, Edward probley hates me.

Edward walked into the kitchen

and leaned agaisnt the counter beside me. I avoided his stare and looked at the ground. I heard him sigh, ''Trinity what's wrong?'' Before I could answer Jason and Jeremy walked into the kitchen. ''Hey Tre'.'' Jason said to me. I smiled at him.

''What've you two been up too while I was gone?'' He asked.

Edward and I just stared at him. ''I see...'' Jason said.

He left the room, I watched him leave then looked at Jeremy. He smiled at me.

I smiled a weak attempt. His smiled dropped, ''Something wrong?'' He asked me. I glanced at Edward and he was looking at me.

''No.'' I said.

''Ya sure?''

''Yes.''

Jeremy walked out of the room. I jumped down from the counter and went to the fridge. You know what helps a hangover? Alcohol. I dug through the fridge and saw a bottle. I grabbed it and sat back down on the counter.

I glanced at Edward and he was looking at the bottle in my hands. I opened it and took a sip. I heard someone coming and quickly hopped down and placed the bottle in the fridge.

I stood up and saw Jason and Jeremy standing in the kitchen. ''Why don't we all go out for dinner?'' Jason said.

''Sure.'' I said.

''Great, let's go!'' He said.

I followed him to his car.

''I call shotgun!'' Jeremy yelled.

I got in the backseat beside Edward, I tried to keep as much distance between us as possible. I could feel him staring at me, I looked up and met his black eyes.

''What?'' I asked.

''Are you mad at me?'' He asked quietly so the other two couldn't hear.

''No.'' I replied.

''Well then what's wrong?''

''I already told you, nothing is wrong.''

''Something's wrong.'' He stated. I ignored him and looked out the window.

We arrived at the restaurant and sat down at our table.

I tried to sit away from Edward but Jeremy insisted I sit next to Edward. After we ordered our food I sat there staring down at the table.

I drummed my fingers against the table, I felt someone flick my forehead, I looked up.

''What?'' I asked.

''I asked you a question.'' Jason said.

''Oh,'' Was all I replied.

''Tre', somethin' wrong?'' Jason asked. God why won't people leave me alone?

''No.'' I replied, annoyed.

''Ok, I was just asking a question no need to be a smart ass.'' He said.

I got up from the table and went to the restroom, I walked to the sink and turned on the water, splashing cold water on my face. I sighed, I feel horrible. The throbbing headache was getting worse by the minute and I felt ill.

I wiped my face off and stared at my reflection in the mirror.

My sking was paler than usual and there was dark circles under my eyes. I walked out

of the restroom and back to the table. The waiter placed the food in front of me and I stared down at the plate feeling sick.

I didn't touch my food and I stared at my hands the whole dinner. After Jason and Jeremy finished eating they paid and we left the restaurant. I found it strange that Edward didn't get anything to eat but didn't think too much about it since thinking made my head hurt worse. When we got home Jason and Jeremy said they were going out with some friends for awhile. They invited Edward but he said he was too tired. After they left Edward and I standing in the living room together, I walked out of the room to the kitchen.

I didn't want Edward asking me more questions that I didn't want to answer. I grabbed the bottle of alcohol I had drank from earlier and ran upstairs to my room. I sat on my bed drinking straight from the bottle. I didn't look at what it was but it was very strong.

I turned on some music very loudly and lay in bed.

As I sat there my headache started to fade. I felt better; like I said alcohol always fixes a hangover. My eyes started to get heavy, the last thing I remember before falling asleep was drinking what was left in the bottle till it was empty.

***

I woke up later that night;

my music still blasting in my room. I stared down at the empty bottle lying in my bed beside me, my headache was gone. I turned the music off.

What to do now? I thought.

I don't have any more booze.

I suppose I could go buy some. I walked downstairs and grabbed my keys. I walked to the door and Edward was standing there leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.
