Taking turns, and stopping at red lights, Lydia slowly made her way to Kira's house, and then Malia's. This would be the first time Malia and Lydia have really talked since Stiles and Malia broke up. On top of that, she didn't know how Malia felt about Lydia going to prom with Stiles, but they were good friends, and Lydia knew Malia was really laid back, so hopefully she wouldn't mind that much.
Malia opened the back car door and sat in the seat behind Kira.

" Hey, guys." Malia smiled.
Kira and Lydia said a synced hello, then Lydia started the car and pulled out of Malia's driveway.
" Wait, Malia, are you going with anybody?" Kira turned her head to face Malia.

" Isaac asked me last night." Lydia couldn't see Malia, but she sounded really content. Lydia grinned, she was happier knowing Malia was happy.
" I knew he would." Kira nodded, and started to laugh.
" By the way Malia, I hope you're okay with me going with Stiles. I'm so sorry you two broke up partially because of me." Lydia cringed.

" It's okay, also its not your fault. Of course I have to admit I was miserable for a few days, it was hard getting over that guy but I mean, if he still liked you I wasn't going to stop him. Besides, it's prom, and soon, graduation! Let's all be happy and forget about the what is in the past, just celebrate!" Malia proclaimed.

Inside the dress store, they had millions of prom dresses, they had the poofy, the bejeweled, and the more plain and sleek. An array of colors stood in front of the three of them. Lydia could hear Malia's mouth drop.
" I guess we went to the right place." Kira's eyes were wide.
The trio exchanged looks, all of them looking bewildered.
Quickly, they dug in.

There was so many, it was hard to choose one. Lydia was looking for the perfect prom dress. She didn't want a fluffy one, or a bejeweled one, she wanted an absolutely subtle, yet gorgeous dress. She wanted a pastel color, as well.

" I can't go for a orange dress, since I'm a red-head." Lydia said as she turned down an orange dress.
" What about an olive green? That would suit your hair." Malia said as she added a coral gown to her pile of maybes.
" Yeah, that would be nice." Lydia nodded her head.
" There's too many. I want them all!" Kira huffed out.
Then Lydia found a beautiful short dress, that was the lightest blue, with silver embroidery on the edge of the strapless top. The color caught her eye, it was just so pretty to her. It was as if the dress was a cloud. She grabbed it from the rack and held it up,
" I think I found my dress." Lydia smiled widely.
" Oh my god its so gorgeous." Malia awed.
" I love the color." Kira chimed in.
" I know, it's stunning." Lydia stared at it, deciding that it was the one. It was also not that pricey, which was a bonus.
Lydia sat down on the couch in between the aisle, where Kira and Malia had their piles. She scavenged through them, looking for her favorites. In Malia's section, she found a really nice long strapless gown with a loose bow around the waist. With an impressive nude color that would definitely flatter Malia's skin tone and hair.

" Hey, Malia, I like this one." Lydia held up the neutral dress.
Malia came over and sat beside Lydia, " yeah, I think I'm going to have to go with that one, I love it." She put in on her lap. While Malia and Lydia waited for Kira, Lydia started to think about Allison, and how much she wished she was here with her right now, them both getting ready for prom together. Lydia thought about Allison a lot, she missed her so much. She knew she'd never have a best friend like Allison again. Lydia was upset at the thought that she was moving on with her life without Allison. Allison never got to make it, she'll never get her diploma, or go to prom, or university, Lydia always imagined Allison right beside her when she did these things. Kira brought Lydia out of her trance when she asked her if she liked the dress she had picked out.

It was black and white, the whole dress being white, and then black lace in diagonal stripes meeting all across the bottom half of the strapless dress. On the top half, lace covered half of it. topped off with a black belt. It was magnificent, really. Lydia couldn't even explain it.

" Woah, you'll look amazing in that."
Lydia's eyes were big.
" Thanks." Kira said.
At the cash, they each paid for their dress, and Malia bought a peachy-beige flower to put in her hair as well.
They all got into Lydia's car, and drove off, with gowns in their hand.
