Raven pov:

We prepared as much as we could. With the help of the Justice League and the JSA we evacuated as much citizens as we could underground where Batman has a secret base. They are not guaranteed complete safety but it was the safest place to hide them away from the fight we have ahead. We've trained so hard and learnt more skills which could give us a fighting chance against my father. What worried me was that I had no idea what father's plan was and what he was going to do. All I knew was that he would escape and it would be fatal, he would claim and destroy our world and everyone in it. I would be lying if I said I was calm, I was scared with the pressure of protecting the world and putting an end to my father who was older, wiser, stronger, more powerful and experienced than me. The odds are slim that me and all the other heroes combined could defeat Trigon, there will be casualties, they could be my friends, other heroes or civilians and their blood will be forever on my hands and I will have to live with that, if I even survive which is less likely. I'm not afraid of dying, in fact as selfish as it sounds it might be a relief because I won't have to suffer the remorse. Well if I go to the afterlife I might but that would be better than suffering with it here. I just can't cope with the idea of others dying because of me, good innocent people who don't deserve to die could have their lives taken away from them. Even if we won this battle, there will be loss and destruction, father won't go without a fight. We are all prepared to do what's necessary, I'd kill my father with my own hands if I have to.

That night I had a strange dream, it was like a premonition. My abilities are strong but I've never experienced a premonition like that before. It was a warning, I knew father was escaping and I couldn't hold him in for much longer. I saw darkness, skies of black and a landscape drenched in blood. So this is what it would look like, Trigon's victory. I woke up feeling confused and worried, I went to Damian's room and climbed in bed with him. He always makes me feel better. I was shocked to say the least about the dream I had and I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night.

Dawn had finally come and the light coming through the window highlighted Damian's attractive facial features. I just stared at him, making the most of everything being peaceful and normal. He looked angelic in a peaceful sleep. How can someone so attractive end up with a someone like me?
I didn't realise how close I was to him until his emerald eyes fluttered open and his breath fanned by skin. I smiled, liking the close proximity. "Morning." I whispered. "Morning." He whispered back. I yarned. "You haven't slept at all have you?" He asked. "No."    "Try and get some sleep, I'll make you some tea."  "Thanks." I replied followed by another yarn. After a little while I finally drifted off.
This wasn't a regular dream, it was like I was somewhere else. I was lying on soft green grass, it tickled my bare feet. My face was warm from the beaming sun which created a light glow. I looked up at the sky which were beautiful shades of blue and green. I was wearing a white summery dress, this sounds like a typical dream but the atmosphere also contradicted with a sinister feeling. I got up deciding to look around. I walked through familiar streets paved in solid marble and buildings accented with columns of pure gold.  "DO YOU FEEL NOSTALGIA WALKING THROUGH THE STREETS OF YOUR BIRTHPLACE?" A voice I knew all too well said behind me. I turned around hesitantly. "Father?"  Then the penny dropped, I was in Azerath. However it was not obliterated, it was how it used to be before my father destroyed it. "I PREFER IT DEMOLISHED MYSELF, THIS PLACE SICKENS ME. YOU WILL ALSO LEARN TO LOATHE THIS PLACE  AFTER BEING TRAPPED HERE." What? We are inside my head. No, it can't be... "DON'T LOOK SO ASTONISHED DAUGHTER. YOUR IGNORANCE IS RATHER DISAPPOINTING, YOU THOUGHT I WOULD JUST ESCAPE LETTING YOU UNLEASH YOUR RATH ON ME. YOU SHOULD BE FLATTERED THAT I WANT YOU OUT THE WAY. I HAVE PLANS FOR YOU LATER BUT FOR NOW I AM FINALLY GOING TO CLAIM WHAT'S  MINE."
Father then broke free from the purple chains that trapped him here and before I could react, the chains were now wrapped around me, I was trapped.  "No!" I cried. My plans, all my plans with my improved magic and working with my mother were now crushed. With my power out of the way, my father will destroy this world and mould it to become a place of pure hell. "IT'S A SHAME YOU HAVE TO MISS OUT ON ALL THE FUN. DON'T WORRY, YOU WILL GET TO SEE IT'S REMAINS AFTER MY VICTORY." Father relished my suffering. He relished any suffering. "Please stop." I begged. I hated myself for having to resort to begging, as if he had any love of a father in him. "HEARING YOU BEG SHOWS HOW PATHETIC YOU REALLY ARE, AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOU BEG, I HAVE PLACES TO BE." He replied before vanishing from the confinement of my own mind. "No!" I cried again. I yanked the chains but it was no use, I was stuck here, stuck in my own mind whilst my father destroys the world and I can't do a damn thing about it.

Meanwhile: Damian's pov:

I made Raven's favourite blend of tea, and went back up to my room to give it to her. She was sleeping peacefully so I decided to leave her to rest. After taking a shower and getting dressed I lightly shook her in attempt to wake her up. "Raven." There was no response.  "Raven, it's already twelve pm." She wouldn't wake up even with me vigorously shaking her.  "Raven!" I raised my voice in worry. She's unconscious. Hearing me shout at Raven unresponsive, Kori and Grayson came running in with concern on their faces. "What's going on?" He asked. "She's not waking up!"  "She's breathing... it's seems like she's in a coma. Did she fall?" Kori asked. "No she has been lying here the whole time." I replied, pointing at my bed. There was a loud noise outside followed by shouts and screams. We looked out of the window at the commotion outside.  "He's here." Grayson stated with a mixture of surprise and fear in his voice. He sounded like a scared child, which wasn't helping Kori next to him who was clinging on to him with the same feeling in her expression. "He's escaped!" Connor and Garfield announced charging into my bedroom with the rest of my teammates. "What's happened to Raven?" Donna asked, sitting next to her. "She's unconscious." Kori responded.  "If Trigon has escaped from Raven's mind and she can't wake up, she might be trapped." Jaime said. He's probably right. That makes sense, if she can't wake up at the same time Trigon has escaped, they probably were at the same place in her mind and he has gone out whilst she is stuck there. Without her we don't have a chance. I am prepared to die, being born into the League of assassins has made the thought of dying a normal thing. "We need to wake her up, now!" Raven's mother demanded, appearing at the doorway. "She won't wake up, she might be trapped." Connor answered. Raven's mother sat next to her, placing her hand on Raven's forehead.

Raven's pov:

"Raven."   "Raven."  "Raven, can you hear me?"
That voice. It's mother's, she's here too.  "Raven!"   "Mother, where are you!?"    "I'm here. Well not actually here but outside your mind, your body is unconscious."   "Father, he's escaped and I'm trapped here!"   "Try to remain calm as hard as it sounds, we need to figure out how to get you out."   "I'm trapped with my own chains."    "If they are your own chains created by your mind couldn't you just manipulate them to your will?"   "I can't, they won't budge. Father must of thought this through, he wouldn't have left me like this if it were easy to manipulate the chains."  "Do you remember how you created them?"   "Yes. It was that day. The day I was naive enough to think it would be a good idea to summon father and unleash him on Azerath. Once he destroyed Azerath I trapped him inside the Jewel but he was also chained inside there with the chains I created. It's a simple spell I used to turn my power into the form of chains. However when he escaped and I trapped him again, it was in a fragment of the jewel and I then attached it to my forehead so I can keep tabs on him twenty four seven. The chains are more in my mind now than in the jewel itself, but they were both connected."     "I see. The jewel is no longer on your head, but your father couldn't of removed it, could he?"  "The jewel doesn't have to be physically removed for him to escape, if he is strong enough he could overpower the jewel and escape. He must have the jewel on him though and it is likely shattered due to the force of him escaping. I don't even think there's much left of it."
"If I can find some of the fragments of the jewel then maybe I can use it in a spell to shatter the chains if they are both connected. I'm not sure how or if it will work but I could somehow use the connection between the two as a way to free you from the chains you created."    "Yes, if you could destroy the remains of the jewel that might destroy the chains too, but if we destroy the jewel then we can't trap him again. But then it's very unlikely the jewel would be in one piece so I couldn't trap him in it again. It would be impossible to get it off him also considering how tiny the fragments would be. I bet he's protecting it, he probably knows of a way i could use it to free myself."    "It's not impossible. Your father is not yet aware of my existence, he won't expect it coming, that's when I'll get the jewel back. I will use his moment of distraction and confusion against him and get it back. I promise."
